Fall Blossom Time Card

October 16, 2017
Fall Blossom Time

It seems like we are all focused on Halloween and Christmas cards right now, but I thought it would be nice to take a moment to celebrate fall with a colorful bouquet of fall flowers using the new Blossom Time stamp set from Krista Schneider. I love how you can change the seasonal look of flower stamps just by changing their colors and I personally can’t resist all of the yellow, orange and red tones of fall.

Here’s how I made the card: Continue Reading

Rose Gatefold Petal-Fold Card

July 4, 2017

Hi Crafty Friends,

It’s Frances here and it’s my turn to post a tutorial today for the Die Cut Design Team. This time round I decided to play with the ModaScrap Gatefold – Elegant Roses die to create a “Petal-Fold” card. It is an elegant card, suitable for weddings, invitations or any occasion where you want something a little bit different.

As the cardstock I selected to use for my card was duo-tone (also called “duplex”) – dark red on one side and light red on the other – I decided to keep to the three colors of white, dark red and light red for my card. By keeping the insert loose, I could turn it with the back showing when the card is closed, revealing the light red through the openings of the “petals”.

Zoo Babies Panda Baby Card

June 12, 2017
Zoo Babies Panda Baby Card

Hi everyone,

It’s Frances here and it is my turn to post a tutorial for the Coloring Design Team. Today I am playing with the Krista Schneider Zoo Babies stamp set and coordinating dies to create a baby card. For some reason I seem to be making girl baby cards lately, but this card could easily be changed to suit a boy just by changing the colors of patterned papers used.

Zoo Babies Panda Baby Card

Here is how I created my card:

Step 1 –

  • Cut a piece of pale pink cardstock so it measures 4 1/4 inches x 11 inches. Score and fold at 5 1/2 inches to create a top folding card.
  • Use the second largest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles die set to cut a rectangle from dark pink cardstock.
  • Use the second largest rectangle from the Fitted Rectangles die set to cut a rectangle from designer paper (from ModaScrap Sweet Vintage Rose Patterned Paper Pack).
  • Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 3 3/4 inches x 3 inches
  • Cut a piece of dark pink cardstock that measures 3 3/4 inches x 3 1/4 inches.
  • Layer all pieces onto the folded card using photo above as a guide.

Step 2 –

  • Use the third smallest square from the Stitched Squares die set and die cut a square from designer paper.
  • Use the fourth smallest square from the Dotted Scallop Squares die set and die cut a square from dark pink cardstock.
  • Use a trimmer to cut the square in half diagonally (see photo above).
  • Adhere one half of the square to the left hand side of the card using foam tape. (refer to photo below).

Step 3 –

  • Using the Zoo Babies Clear Stamp set, stamp out the bear; present and single flower onto White Soft Finish Cardstock using black ink.
  • Use coordinating dies to die cut each image and adhere to card using foam tape for the bear and present.
  • Decorate the edges of the white rectangle and the half square panel using Glitter Borders Peel-Off Stickers.

Step 4 –

  • Stamp a sentiment from the Baby Clear Stamp set to the lower right hand corner of card using black ink.

Step 5 – The Inside of Card:

  • Use the second largest rectangle from the Stitched Rectangles die set to cut a rectangle from dark pink cardstock.
  • Use the second largest rectangle from the Fitted Rectangles die set to cut a rectangle from designer paper (from ModaScrap Sweet Vintage Rose Patterned Paper Pack).
  • Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock that measures 3 3/4 inches x 3 inches
  • Cut a piece of dark pink cardstock that measures 3 3/4 inches x 3 1/4 inches.
  • Layer all pieces together and adhere to the inside of the card using photo above as a guide.

Step 6 –

  • Use the remaining half of the square we cut in half in step 2 to adhere to the left hand side of card.

Step 7 –

  • Stamp the “Baby” and “Girl” sentiments from the Baby Clear Stamp set to the white panel.
  • Color the ‘Baby” sentiment as desired.
  • Stamp the trio flowers from the Zoo Babies Clear Stamp set to the top and bottom right hand corner of white panel.

Thank you for  stopping by today, I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.

April 7, 2017

Welcome Back!

DT Melanie here sharing a fun little mix of two different stamp sets by Krista Schneider for Elizabeth Craft Designs. The kitty is part of the Purr Clear Stamp set. This little orange tabby just looked like he was up to no good so I paired him up with the thought bubble and ball of yarn from the Dreamers’ Clear Stamp set.

Both of the above-mentioned clear stamp sets also have matching die sets to coordinate with them.

Well, I actually broadened my spectrum. I wanted to go back to creating a layout for a change, so today´s project combines die cutting and scrapbooking.
