All About the Circles

March 25, 2022

Karen here today with a post that is all about the circles! I created a card using the Fitted and Stitched Circles and then was inspired to also create a Sidekick scrapbook page using them as well.

First up is a card using the Squirrel cut using 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. I cut the pieces “on top” using the 101mm Double Sided Adhesive. Isn’t he just adorable! I used a combination of Distress Inks to color him including Kitsch Flamingo, Weathered Wood, Antique Linen and Tea Dye. I added random Stitched and Fitted Circles to create a lively card layout for him and added some twine and lace. The stamp is from the Life is Better on the Farm set. The acorn is colored with Copic markers.

I then was inspired to use circles in a Sidekick page journaling some fun I had at a basketball game. The team was losing, so I started taking pictures of the fun and colorful shoes. The page base and pink overlay is Sidekick Essentials 20. The “fab” die is in Planner Essentials 43, and the lettering is from Planner Essentials 37. As always, I added some reinforcements from the Reinforcement Variety Packs 1 and 2.

On the back of the page is more shoes and more circles! My guy met the guy with the shoes that were yellow and colorful, but unfortunately, I only noticed the shoes, so I can’t tell you who it was!

Thanks a bunch for stopping by today!

Craftily yours, Karen

Art Journal Collection Planner Essentials Summer Journal Special

Places I’ve Been Journal

October 21, 2020

Karen here today sharing a dashboard for my new journal that will be a scrapbook of all of the places I’ve been. Since I haven’t been able to travel (much) during the CV19, this will be a fun way to relive those memories!

I decided to use the gorgeous Summer Art paper and die cut two circles using the Fitted Circles Dies. I layered these circles up on blue and grey cardstock that was die cut with the Dotted Scallop Circles dies.

To turn these circles into “planner pages”, I used the die from Planner Essentials 5 to cut the holes as seen above. Then I had the fun in decorating them!

The “gold” in the banner (cut using a Celebration Flags die) is created using 90 lb White Soft Finish Cardstock that I rubbed with Opal Polish by Creative Expressions (color is Golden Glow). The “blue” is black cardstock rubbed with Opal Polish in Blue Parakeet and Golden Glow. The die for this is from the Decorative Insert set. Those fun letters are from the Butterfly Pocket Insert. I love how all these dies “fit” together so nicely! And, of course, I had to add some reinforcements that were from Planner Labels (hearts) and the Reinforcement Variety Pack (small circles).

For this one, I used many of the same products as above and I added a heart that can be found in the Decorative Insert set. I added a few dots made with the Metallic Gold Craft Drops and a few diamond dots from my stash.

I’m going to have SUCH fun creating pages for my new planner/scrapbook. Hope you like my circle-fun pages!

Craftily yours, Karen
