Hello everyone, it´s Sanna Lippert here again today with another guest design team post and video. For today´s post I´ve created a wedding card in green, red and white. I wanted to play with very traditional colours to create these mixed media cards.

Here is how to make these cards:

Step 1: Take a piece of white Soft Finish Cardstock and fold it into a card size of your choice. Then take the Make Your Mark stencil and place it on top of the white surface and apply modeling paste thru the stencil onto the background. I like to create an irregular pattern instead of filling the whole background. I find that more interesting to the eye.
Step 2: Now take watercolour/mixed media paper and stamp with Flower Power stamps and embossing ink onto that piece. Then pour fine white embossing powder on top of heat set if with a heat tool. While you are at it, make a bigger set of flowers!
Step 3: Now take watercolours (or use watercolour pencils, markers or Distress Inks or any coloring media you like to use) and color the flowers in red tones.
Step 4: After you are done coloring the flowers, paint a piece of white cardstock with light green watercolor tone and die cut leaves using the Trio of Leaves dies.

Step 5: Arrange the leaves and flowers onto the card base and adhere on place. I adhered the flower with 3D foam to get some additional texture, the leaves are adhered with liquid glue, but you could also use Clear Double Sided Adhesive (add to paper before die cutting!).
Step 6: Now take a strip of Soft Finish Cardstock and stamp a sentiment with black ink onto it. I used the Build Your Own Sentiments 1 set here. Adhere on place with 3D foam.
Step 7: If you prefer, you can add some green or red splatters onto the background with a watercolor brush, just make sure you protect the rest of the card with a paper towel.

I really like how this card turned out. I matted the card onto a light green cardstock in the end to get some additional contrast to the card. But this is totally optional – you could also work with a solely white card base.

While I created this card, I did several flowers and die cut a bunch of leaves, so I could make a batsch of cards at once. I used the same technique, but did cards in just a slightly smaller size. Here they are:

By the way, I´ve used a watercolour set from my own stash for the cards, but give the new watercolours at the store a try – they have such great colours in the set! Plus, note that the leaves I used are not available at the store, so I replaced them with a really nice leaf set in the supply list.
