Monster-fied Critters

August 12, 2022

Hi, Karen here today. For today’s post, I decided to “monster-fy” a couple of Joset’s other critters. I made the funniest dog and a very unusual elephant as the centerpieces for some fun cards.

First up, I used the Dog die set to create this funny little critter. The face is from the Monster 2 set. I put the head with the eyes, nose, ears and body from the Dog. I love how silly he looks. I used Kraft cardstock for most of the pieces (except the eyes and teeth which are 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock. The dog is framed by a Stitched Circle Die. Using 101mm behind pieces like the eyes before diecutting makes them so easy to adhere.

The face, ears, legs and body are edged with a tiny bit of Tea Dye Distress Ink. The collar is colored with a Copic Marker as is the tag and eyes.

I used all of the pieces of the Elephant die except I turned the body sideways to make him unusually skinny. haha I also used the head and horns from the Monster 1 die set.

I cut most of the pieces with very light grey cardstock and edged them with a bit of Hickory Smoke Distress Ink. The ears are cut from 90 lb Soft Finish Cardstock and are colored with Kitsch Flamingo Distress Ink. The eyes and ears are cut using 101mm Double Sided Adhesive to make them easy to put together! I used the Monster Hugs stamps on both cards.

Thank you for stopping by!

Craftily yours, Karen

Christmas in the forest

August 11, 2022

Hii everyone, it is my turn to share a card with you today. In the Netherlands it is pretty warm so I made a Christmas card. I’m using some older dies, some new planner dies and everything in between hihi.

So it is a pop-up card in Christmas theme. I started with a piece of brown paper 21 cm x 30,5 cm. I made a crease at the 15,25 cm. Exactly the middle. In the Middle I used the 2 cm pop-up dies.

I did the same thing but then with a smaller pop-up dies. I did this at both sides 3,5 cm from the outside. I also trimmed from light brown paper a piece who fits perfectly at the bottom.

Now it’s time to start build the card and making some fun elements. So I started with the mushroom. This is a dies from Joset’s Storybook Collection. I used almost all the dies only the grass and the flowers not this time. But I did used the lights from the newest planner release from Esther, Planner Essentials 53. I die-cut it twice, one in brown, one in Soft Finish Cardstock so I can build up the lights. I also used the Winter Greens from the Florals the give the Mushroom a Christmas look.

The back from the Mushroom is adhere at pop-up in the middle. The next step is adhere the trees at the back, not the pop-up. The trees are from the Mason Jar kit, beautiful trees. I adhere them in different hights, so it gives more dimension.

Then I adhere some lighter trees at the darker trees.

And at least some trees at the pop-up.

Later I will add someting between the trees but for now I will make the gnomes from Joset’s dies. These gnomes are great because you can make different gnomes. I made a small boy with a mushroom and tree. I added the tree later so you can’t see it on this picture. I also used the star from Planner Essentials 53.

And the girl gnome with some holly at here dress. This is a dies from the snowglobe from Joset’s dies.

Then I was thinking how can I fill the rest? Well I adhere some stones at path. These stones are from the sea collection.

And what I also did is making to fishtails at both sides with 2 different sentiments. Both sentiments are from the Joyful Wishes stamp.

So that was my blogpost for today. I know I used a lot of dies but go through your dies and see what you have. You can also used some other dies for the path.

So thankyou for visiting! See you soon.

Kind regards Lisanne Geerdink

Sweet ‘n Scary

July 28, 2022

Hi all, hope you’re doing all fine and ready for a new blogpost. It is my turn again today so I made a planner page with the lovely monsters from Joset. It is a great collection for making cards, but also great for using in a planner.

So let’s start with the page. I used the base page without tab at it (1604). It is an older dies but I think some of you have it. Above this base page I adhere the splatter page. It is just a beautiful pages that give something special. The paper I used is from Reminiscene the book 4. For the next steps I lay everything at the page and when I’m happy with it I adhere all together.

The background was very clean for me so I cut out two tags which came out the Reminiscene book 4. I als trimmed of a piece paper which I teared at the sides. Now it looks like 2 pockets with tags. Just putting a reinforcement and some hemp cord at the tags and I can adhere it. I also adhere the reinforcements at the page before everything is covered.

All the edges are coloured with Distress Ink Black Soot.

Now we can make the picture frames. The Planner Filmstrip dies (1656) has 2 frames, one with tab and one without. I die-cut this from black and kraft paper so I can make combine this together.

Behind the frames I adhere some paper so I can add pictures later. In the Splatter page set there are flowers in it. I used this as decoration at the frames. In the flowers I add the fallen pieces from the reinforcements.

I adhere the frame a little diagonally. And then the monsters. This monster is a combination from monster 2 and 3. I used the belly, tooth and wings from monster 2, the eyes from monster 3 and the nose from the party time set. The tooths are great as hair. All these elements are coloured with Distress Ink.

Isn’t this a cute one? Now then you’ll find the next one even as cute. This is monster 2 with his hat, big feets and hands who hold the frames. He even has a little flower at the top of his hat.

Then the last frame. This frame is without the tab, but I put a little filmstrip piece between the frame.

For me it gives a little bit extra. At the bottom of the frame I adhere a piece from the Reminiscene book and an arrow. Also at this frame I adhere some flowers. Oh and I totally forgot to say, before I adhere the frames to the pages I stamped some sentiments from the Monster hugs at it.

So I think I told you everything about this page, hopefully you liked it and got some ideas to.

Thankyou for visiting and see you soon!

Kind regards,

Lisanne Geerdink

Let’s party

July 7, 2022

Hii all! It’s time for a new blogpost with the newest dies from Joset. What a fun collection for such a fun cards. Today I want to share this planner page. The monsters are having a party in the castle.

I started with making a background at the Mason Jar. I did this with Distress Oxide Ink Salvaged Patina and Uncharted Mariner. I put some ink at my glass mat used the spray bottle and dipped the paper in the ink. Between every layer you need to dry it with the heattool so you can make layers. If you don’t the ink will mix.

This technique is a funny way to make backgrounds. I did this also with the lit from the jar.

Then I made the Castle from the Once upon a time collection. I coloured this with Distress Oxide Ink Hickory Smoke and stamped with CS185 some stones. Later I made lines at the windows so you can see them better.

Now it is time to adding the monsters. I used 1 monster, wings from another monster and the hands from monster 1. They are watching us, you can feel that isn’t it hihi.

I adhere the castle at the background and adhere the top of the jar at the castle. The castle is a little bit larger than the jar. So the pieces that are out of the bottle are trimmed.

I thought this page need more dimension so I adhere the bats and the boiler at the jar. These are from the Halloween Accessoires. At the boiler I stamped the sentiment ‘Let’s party’ from the new stamp set. Oh and at least the reinforcements.

I’ll hope you like this blogpost. Soon I will share more creations with the monsters. So I will see you soon! Bye bye!

You set my heart on fire

June 23, 2022

Hii all! It’s me Lisanne with a new blogpost. So today I want to share this fire bus card. Sometimes you get an idea and it works out well, that’s what I had with this card.

So I started with the background. I die-cut the biggest Stitched Intended Square (1698) and coloured this with Distress Oxide Ink Tumbled Glass. First I blend it and after that I dipped the card into the wet ink on my sheet. Now I can make different layers. The last layer is made with Distress Ink Tumbled Glass. I love all the different layers just with one colour.

Here you can see a close-up picture.

I did the same for the grass. I used the Slimeline Adventure Edges (1925) and coloured this with Distress Oxide Ink Mowed Lawn. Love those splatters.

For the next step I started with the Retro Bus Kit. I want to make it as a firebus. The base is coloured with Distress Ink Barn Door. Also for the bus I used Black Soot, Prize Ribbon, Fossilized Amber and Hickory Smoke. I made the stripes with the pieces from the suitcase.

I adhere the stripes before I added all the other layers so you covered the edges.

The light at the top of the bus is from the Fire Accessoires. For this card I used more pieces, like the ladder, pawn and the helmet.

I also made the Elephant, he can bring more water to the fire.

Than it is time to adhere everything together. Then I saw a spot where someting is missing. I missed the splatters water, this looks realy fun I think. The Elephant needs his wiper to clean the window.

At least I stamped the sentiment ‘You set my heart on fire’ at the stitched banner. And coloured the edges with Tumbled Glass Distress Ink.

And here is the last close-up picture. I’ll hope you like this card as much as I do. I had a lot of fun making this.

Thank you for reading!

Kind regards Lisanne

Sea you soon

June 6, 2022

Hi All! Lisanne Here. So the weather will be a little bit better every day so I thought it is time for an ocean themed card. Just a great season to make a lot of fun cards. Today I will use the sea collection from Joset which is great for these type of cards.

First I used a stencil from the Earth Patterns to make a background on the stitched hexagon. I did this with the Elements ink, Mermaid. After that I used the same colour to make the background light blue.

After that I made all the elements for this card. I made the Lighthouse(1754) and the stones from the sea weed(1752) dies. I colored this with different inks like Distress Ink, Distress Oxide Ink, Elements Ink. All these colors look perfect with each other.

As you can see I adhered the Lighthouse on the left. I put the stones in front with some coins in between. I thought it was a fun idea but also the yellow color lift up the card.

I used a sentiment from the Splish Splash sentiment ‘sea you soon’ and stamped this on the background with some black ink.

Lastly I adhered two seagulls with an orange beak. Love these small seagulls at the card, not in real haha.

And here is the whole card. I hope you enjoy creating this card as much as I did. Thank you so much for following along. Sea you soon!

Happy Birthday

May 18, 2022

Good Morning Friends today i have a card to share with you designed using the Volume 4 Florals Release using Florals 15.

Cutting the florals out using Soft finished cardstock, i colored them with saltwater Taffy Distress ink and the leaves with Peeled Paint

Shaping them using my shaping mat, i added some stamens to the center.  Then lightly added some snow paste on top to add more detail.

To create the dress i took a 5.75 x 12 inch piece of patterned paper and scored every 1/2 inch. Making sure to fold so that the ends were able to be folded inward. I free hand drew the top of the dress to create a tank style top and wrapped gold thread and colored seam binding to coordinate with the card.

Thank you for dropping by today, I hope i have inspired you to create some dress cards of your own.

Hakuna Matata

May 5, 2022

Hii everyone! Here Lisanne and back with a new blogpost. This blogpost will be a short post but I realy like the result.

First I made the cute Giraffe with Soft Finish Cardstock and Distress Ink. The little spots are diecut with Double Sided Adhesive at the back.

Then the background. I think it was time to use the Silk Microfine Glitter. For this card I want to create a jungle scene. So I used the Leaf background. For the base I used Soft Finish Cardstock and Double Sided Adhesive at the top so I can put Anitque Gold glitter at it.

The leaf is colored with Distress Ink.

The next step is adhere the Giraffe at the back ground. As you can see I made Jungle leaves at the top of the card. The left corner is realy empty so I decided to make the party lanterns, make a leave and a banner with Hakuna Matata at it.

So this was my short post about this card, but I hope you liked it. Thankyou for reading and hopefully see you soon.

Kind regards Lisanne

Mini Book with Desert Blooms

May 4, 2022

Good Morning friends, it is Karan Gerber here to share a mini book project with you. This is designed using Florals 17 as well as the Mini Book Die.

I die cut the florals and leaves out on the Soft Finish cardstock then colored front and back with rusty hinge distress ink and dabbed a bit of vintage photo on the tips to add some depth.

I shaped them with my stylus and mat and curled them into this shape, I hot glued them together and then added a bit more shape to them and inserted stamens. They remind me of small desert flowers I have seen in the Grand Canyon.

To add a bit of detail to the box, i splattered watered down acrylic paint and some ancient gold coin paint. I decided to go on the center of the leaves with a thin paint brush with gold coin paint.
I then added some art stones to add even more detail and dimension.

I love how this little project turned out and hope you give this a try.

Summer

April 21, 2022

Hi all! I hope you doing all fine? I’m here with a new blogpost with the Time to travel collection and some dies from Joset and Ilse & Charlene.

I used the Porthole page for this card. I die-cut it two times and just used two holes.

I want to make a book of it. So I used the Journal Edges and a piece of kraft cardstock.

At this piece I used a stamp to pimp it. I think it looks realy grungy.

In the portholes I adhere the circle with the word ‘summer’ and the cute hippo with his safari hat. He is looking through the porthole.

At the back you see the back of the Hippo with his tail. I only adhere the circles from the porthole inside.

I stamped a sentiment in one of the portholes and add some washi tape.

This is my porthole card with the Hippo. I’ll hope you liked it.

Thankyou for reading!

Kind regards Lisanne
