Cardmaking Joset Designs Soft Finish Cardstock

Good cluck

September 20, 2023

Hii everyone,

I hope you’re all doing fine. Today I’m here to share a new small project with different collections from Elizabeth Craft Design. This week is the release of the new florals collection. I used the basket from one set for the cute ducks.

For the base I used the Stitched Indented Rectangle, kraft cardstock and paper from the Pretty Pastels paperpad. The edges are inked with Distress Ink Frayed Burlap.

I made the basket from the Floral Foliage 1 with Soft Finish Cardstock and Distress Ink. I used some small fasteners from Tim Holtz to make it look real.

At the top I did some inking with blue so it looks like water.

I made the cute ducks and cornfields also from Soft Finish Cardstock and Distress Ink. The smaller ducks are in the basket in the water.

At the top I did some stamping with the life is better on the farm stamp. I realy like the fishtail banners with stitching. They are perfect for the stitched rectangle.

I hope you like this post and got an idea with the basket.

Thankyou for visiting and see you next time!

Kind regards,

Lisanne Geerdink

Dreams can come true

September 18, 2023

Hello all, Jackie here with todays super simple inspiration which is perfect for those times when you need a card in a hurry. I have to say that this little guy has the most infectious smile!

Step One:

First I created a circular stencil from acetate using and a 3″ or 7.5cm circular die. Place the stencil onto a piece of white cardstock cut slightly smaller than an A2 (US) or A6 (UK) then use a blending tool to ink the centre.

Step Two:

Once the ink has dried off a little add a line of white gel pen just around inside edge, then round the top corner using a punch.

Step Three:

Build the Grasshopper as normal except you will need to move his head forward slightly so that he sits more upright on his leaf. Add ink around the edges of each piece before you glue them together to add character and dimension, you can also add a few white gel pen dots to his cheeks for a cute look.

Step Four:

Add a black line around the edge of the circle with a few squiggles adding a bit more detail to the background.

Step Five:

Finish off with the sentiment. I have white embossed onto black cardstock which is my favourite, I chose follow your dreams as he looks like he is hopping off into the sunset! But there would be a good few different sentiments that would work just as well.

That’s it for today, Thank you for reading and I hope you pop by again next time! Happy crafting –

Ombre Butterfly

September 11, 2023

Hello crafty friends, it’s Summer Hills-Painter here on the blog today. The Bee dies set in the new Bugs and Butterflies collection is so adorable. I could not wait to play with it.

Preparation:

Cut two sets of wings and the wing overlay out of colored cardstock from the Butterflies die set. From black cardstock, cut the butterfly body and antennae. Cut the word “happy birthday” from Everyday Words die set out of patterned cardstock. Cut the “happy birthday” shadow layer from Everyday Words die set out of black cardstock. Cut one strip from black cardstock measuring 1 1/4″ x 5 3/4″. Cut another strip from patterned cardstock measuring 1″ x 5 3/4″.

Instructions:
Using dark purple ink, ink the edges of one set of butterfly wings. For the second set of wings, ink using using blue, medium purple, and dark purple inks in an ombre pattern. For added depth, you can ink the edges with black ink. Using the same blue ink, ink the overlay pieces. The colors I used were Villainous Potion, Wilted Violet, and Salty Ocean Distress Inks.

For added shimmer, spray the overlay pieces with a shimmer spray. For mine, I used Distress Mica Spray Stain.

Adhere the overlay pieces to the ombre pieces. Then use a foam dot on one end of the wing and glue on the end of the other end, adhere the wings together

Using a Sakura Souffle gel pen and white gel pen, add pen details to the butterfly body. I also chose to cut off the legs. Adhere “happy birthday” to the shadow layer.

Adhere the body to the wings. Adhere the antennae to the body. I chose to use a clear Sakura Glaze pen on the antennae and a red Sakura Glaze pen on the mouth.

Adhere the patterned cardstock strip to the black cardstock strip

Adhere the strip piece to the card panel and then trim off any excess

Adhere the butterfly and the “happy birthday” sentiment to the font of the card.

Use the honeycomb as a stencil and ink the honeycomb patterned cardstock that measures 2 3/4″ x 4″

Cozy winter

September 6, 2023

Hii everyone,

Here is a new blogpost from me. I’m totally in the Christmas Mood. A little while ago I made a Christmas Foodtruck during a Facebooklive. Today I made an another truck for the Christmas Season. At this truck you can buy your Christmas tree in different sizes.

I started with the truck from the Foodtruck dies. I used paper from the Beautiful Brights and Pretty Pastels. I also colored some pieces with Distress Ink and Soft Finish Cardstock. In the truck I adhere a table and a Christmas tree. I also made a cash desk.

The wheels are from a stamp from the Planner Essentials ‘cozy days’. The trees on top of the truck are from the Sidekick Essentials.

The gnome bought this year a small Christmas tree. The gnome is made with Soft Finish Cardstock and Distress Ink.

The trees fits perfect in these milk cans. I wish I have this at my home. The milk cans are from the Farm Accessoires. I die-cut 8 milk cans. I adhere the top of 2 milk cans together so it can stand.

And at least this signboard. I also die-cut this part 2 times so I can make it stand.

When you put everything togehter, you get this little scenery. Now you can understand that there are more possibilities with the truck for this festival. So soon you will see more.

Thankyou for visiting and see you the next time!

Kind regards Lisanne Geerdink

Have A Bee-Utiful Day A2 Card

September 5, 2023

Hi everyone, it’s Tina here. The new Bugs and Butterfly Collection is so much fun to play with. The Bee is just adorable and I pulled out my old Honeycomb die to create my background. If you don’t have the Honeycomb die in your stash then it can be substituted with the Layered Honeybee dies. Below are the steps to create your own card.

Step 1 – Trim White Soft Finish Cardstock to 4 1/4″ x 11″, score at 5 1/2″ and fold in half for a vertical side fold side. (A2)

Step 2 – Diecut Honeycomb and use the negative as a stencil. Place it on top of the card front and apply ink using a blender brush.

Step 3 – Diecut Bee in White and Black Cardstock. Using a blender brush apply Yellow Ink on the White Cardstock. For the flower and honey pot diecut in White Cardstock and use inks. Or if inking isn’t your thing then diecut in various colors of cardstock. Assemble and adhere to card front using Kid’s Choice Glue.

Step 4 – Stamp Bugs & Kisses sentiment using Versafine Onyx Black Ink.

This card can be used for several occasions by changing the sentiment. Below is a link to all the products used. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Crafting!

Birthday Flyby!

September 4, 2023

Hello all. My little ladybug is doing a flyby today, a simple design which would be suitable for different occasions to. I have used the new pretty pastel 12×12″ papers which are absolutely gorgeous.

Step One:

First cover the front of a top folding 5 x 5″ card blank. I wet glue the card blank itself then lay the paper on top starting one corner, then turn over and trim off the over hang.

Step Two:

Using a cloud edge die. die cut into a piece of white card at approximately 2.75″ or 7cm apart leaving a bit of card at the sides for folding. Fold one side where the die cut starts then lay the panel on the card blank about 3 or 4 mm from the edge then make a mark on the other side and fold. The panel need to be slightly wider than the card blank.

Step Three:

Trim the cloud panel edge flaps down to about 1/4″ or 5mm fold inwards then starting a one side glue the flap to the card front followed by the other, this will create a slight dome shape.

Step Four:

Die cut and build the ladybug, you can build the bug facing left, right or forwards whichever you like. Ink all the pieces to bring the character to life and add some detail with a white gel pen.

Step Five:

Add a sun shape poking out of the clouds, use a circle die 1.25″ or 2cm. Layer two together, ink around the edge and fix to the front.

Step Six:

Finish off with adding whatever sentiment you would like, here I have white heat embossed onto black card.

That’s my card for today, I hope I have inspired you to have a go at creating you own flyby.

Ladybug Slim Line Card

August 24, 2023

Hi everyone, Katie here with todays blog post. When I received this set from Joset it automatically brought me back to some wonderful memories as a kid, picking daisy’s and collecting ladybugs. So today I wanted to create this super fun playful slim line card featuring Joset;s new collection “Bugs and Butterflies”. So grab a coffee and I will walk you through how I created this card.

Step 1: Cut your ladybugs from coordinating cardstock, the wings are cut from heavy vellum.

The flowers are cut from white and yellow card stock.

Ink all pieces before assembling with Vintage Photo Distress Ink, the cheeks are inked with Flamingo Distress Ink, I used a white gel pen for the dot in the cheeks. As per picture bellows.

Step 2: Choose your favorite slim line die, the one I used was from Photoplay. Next, I cut a piece of background paper and acetate to fit the card front and assemble. I like to use a bit of acetate as it creates a bit of a shimmer behind the card. then cut and fold your slimline card base.

Step 3: Next, attach your flowers and pop dot your ladybugs.

Step 4: Stamp your choice of sentiment from “Bugs and Kisses” and pop-dot to your card.

Step 5: Splatter your card with heavy acrylic paint.

Thank you for joining me with todays blog post, if you have any questions about my card please send me a message on Facebook Katie Porcina. Happy Crafting.
