Woof Shaker Card

August 24, 2018

Hello crafters!

It’s Sara here today and I have a fun shaker card for you!

It all about dogs and sequins. I love dogs and even if I don’t have one, I dream about it! Meanwhile, I can create something with dog stamps.

Step 1 – Create a card base from Kraft brown cardstock that measures 4 1/4 inches x 5 1/2 inches when folded.

Step 2 – Cut a piece of black cardstock 4 inches x 5 1/4 inches.

Step 3 – Water down some White Acrylic Paint and using a paint brush add paint splatters randomly over the black cardstock. Allow to dry.

Step 4 – Using the third smallest circle from the Garden Notes – Frame It/Stitched Circles die set. Position the circle die toward the lower right hand side of the card and die cut.

  • Using the next largest circle die in the die set, die cut a circle from acetate and adhere to the back of the circle opening of the black cardstock.
  • Apply foam tape all around the back of the black cardstock panel making sure that the tape is close to the edge of the circle with no gapsNote: Use an anti-static powder or baby powder to remove any adhesive that may be on the sides of the foam tape before removing the protective backing from tape. This will prevent the sequins from sticking all over the sides of the shaker.
  • Add sequins and other elements to the shaker. Note: Stamp and die cut fire hydrants, balls and dog bowls from the Puppies Clear Stamp set onto White Soft Finish Cardstock, color and die cut these pieces and add them to the shaker, as shown.
  • Remove protective backing from the foam tape and carefully adhere the base of the card to the back of the black panel. Optional: Cover the opening at the back of the shaker with cardstock matching the card base (making sure that it is slightly smaller than the black card panel and then add this to the card base).

Step 5 – Stamp the dog and kennel from the Puppies Clear Stamp set onto White Soft Finish Cardstock using black ink. Color using medium of  choice and die cut using coordinating dies.

Adhere dog and kennel to the left side of the shaker window. See photo below for placement.

I hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by…
