“Make a Wish Before The Place Burns Down” Birthday Card

July 21, 2018

Hello Crafty Friends!

This is the heart of birthday season for me.  Many of my friends and family have a birthday between now and the end of September.  I went through my birthday card stash last week and realized that I need to make several more.  Oh darn!  I guess that means more time in my craft room.  🙂

Today I am sharing two birthday cards created using the same instructions, stamps and dies.  The focal point of each card front is the funny quote from the Happy Birthday Collection stamp set by Suzanne Cannon: “Blow out the candles…”.  The instructions below list the products I used.

Instructions:

Step 1 – Cut white cardstock to 3 5/8” x 3 5/8”.  Stamp quote and candle spray onto card panel using black archival ink.  Color candles and flames to coordinate with papers.

Step 2 – Die cut metallic cardstock (or poster board) using a square from the Dotted Scallop Squares set.  Mount card panel from step 1 onto metallic die cut square using double-sided foam tape.

Step 3 – Cut patterned paper to 4 5/8” x 4 5/8”.

Step 4 – Die cut pink cardstock using largest square from the Dotted Scallop Squares set.  Mount patterned paper from step 3 onto die cut using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Step 5 – Cut pink card stock to 4.5” x 5.5”.  Score on long side at 4.5”.

Step 6 – Apply Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape to small folded area and secure onto back of card front to create a top fold card.

Make sure that bottom of the card front lines up with the bottom of the card base.  (Tip: Place base of card front on scoreboard as shown below.  Line up base of card back at .25″ and then adhere.)

Your card should look like this from the side:

Step 7 – Assemble paper from step 2 to card front.

Below is a masculine card using the same steps as above but different papers were used.

Thank you for stopping by!  I do hope you enjoyed both cards!

Have a happy, crafty day!

Big hugs,

Kathy Jo

Hahaha! Yes, the saying is too funny. I am so using it on all of my older friends’ birthday cards. 🙂

Thank you for the comment! Have a good day! hugs
