Elizabeth Craft Designs Designer Challenge – July 2018

Hi everyone,

It’s challenge time again! Our Design Team is back this month with lots of inspiration for this month’s challenge …  Are you ready?

Our challenge is …………

Summer Fun with Words & Numbers –  It’s summer time so let’s make summer themed cards this month. Also include either the Blackboard Alphabet or Blackboard Numbers on your project in some way … card; scrapbook layout or other home décor item.

 

For our Challenge today we are giving away a $20 Gift Card to use on the Elizabeth Craft Designs website to 3 lucky winners. 

To enter, simply leave a comment on this blog post below or on the Designer Challenge post on our Facebook page and answer this question: What Elizabeth Craft Designs die or stamp set would you use with the Blackboard Alphabet or Blackboard Numbers die sets. 

We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing.

The winners will be announced on Friday, July 20th, here on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.

Now let’s take a look at the wonderful creations our talented Design Team has created for the Challenge this month. For more information about the cards, click on the designer’s name under each card to be taken to the designer’s blog post.

Tanja Kabel has a fun birthday card to share with us today. To create her card Tanja has used Blackboard Numbers and Stitched Rectangles die sets along with the Gift Wrapped Clear Stamp set with coordinating dies. Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock; Water Color Paper and Ice Teal Silk Microfine Glitter from the Earth Glitter Palette were also used on this card.

Sara Torzullo is up next with her card for our challenge. To create her card Sara has used the Blackboard Alphabet die set to create an inlay technique along with Water Color Paper.

 

Kelly Booth has created a fun beach scene complete with a flamingo. To create her card Kelly has used Flamingos; Palm Trees; Adventure Edges; Stitched Rectangles; Blackboard Alphabet and Susan’s Garden Stitched/Frame Its Ovals die sets along with Soft Finish Cardstock in White and Perfect Pink.

Sandy Diller has created a fun masculine card for our challenge today. To create her card Sandy has used Backyard Barbeque, Blackboard Alphabet, Word Set 1 – Celebrate and Stitched Fishtail Banners die sets along with ModaScrap Manly Man Patterned Paper Pack; Through the Lens Wood Paper Pack and White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Marilyn Scheller has created a birthday card for today’s challenge. To create her card Marilyn has used Blackboard Alphabet die set.

Christine Pooler has created a 60th birthday card for our challenge today. To create her card Christine has used Summer Drinks; 4th of July; Blackboard Numbers; Blackboard Alphabet; Words 4 – Remember and Garden Notes – Frame It/Stitched Squares die sets along with Summer Fun Sentiments Clear Stamp set and White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Selma Stevenson has created a floral friendship card for our challenge. To create her card Selma has used Garden Notes – Gerbera Daisy; Garden Notes – Baby’s Breath and Blackboard Alphabet die sets along with If Animals Could Talk Clear Stamp set. White Soft Finish Cardstock was also used for this card.

Elena Anderson has created a tropical card for our challenge today. To create her card Elena has used Blackboard Alphabet; Tropical Florals; Small Flower Set and Stitched Ovals die sets along with Soft Finish Cardstock in White; Perfect Pink; Rosebud and True Green; Through the Lens Wood Paper; ModaScrap Thinking About Rio de Janeiro Pattern Paper Pack and Pink/Silver Glitter Dots Peel Off Stickers.

Karen Ostergard is next with her party lantern card. To create her card Karen has used Blackboard Alphabet; Party Lanterns; Dashing Rectangles and Adventure Edges die sets along with White Soft Finish Cardstock; ModaScrap Fly & Scrap 6 x 6 Pattern Paper pack and Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

Frances Byrne has a floral birthday card to share with us today. To create her card Frances has used the Garden Notes – Rhododendron; Garden Notes – Frame It/Stitched Ovals; Dashing Rectangles; Blackboard Alphabet die sets along with the Banner Sentiments Clear Stamp set. White Soft Finish Cardstock and ModaScrap Butterfly Dreams Patterned Paper Pack were also used on this card.

Tina Guigui Dornbaum has created a fun shaker card for the challenge. To create her card Tina has used Blackboard Alphabet; Summer Drink and Stitched Rectangles die sets along with White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Samantha Klaebe has a “sweet” watermelon themed card to share with us today. To create her card Samantha used Blackboard Alphabet; Backyard Barbeque (watermelon) die sets along with Silk Microfine Glitter in Green and Fuchsia.

EK Gorman has created a blackboard for her card today, which would be great to give to kids or to a teacher. To create her card EK has used the Blackboard Alphabet; Blackboard Numbers; Summer Drink; Frame It/Stitched Squares; Trio of Leaves die sets along with Soft Finish Cardstock in White; Rich Black & Ladybug Red and ModaScrap Wood Effects Pattern Paper Pack. EK has a video on her blog post to explain how she converted the dies from the Summer Drinks die set to make the apple and blocks.

Katelyn Grosart has created a fun summer themed banner for the challenge. To create her banner Katelyn has used Stitched  Fishtails; Palm Trees; Blackboard Alphabet; Garden Notes – Frame It /Stitched Circles; Tropical Florals and Party Lanterns die sets. White Soft Finish Cardstock; ModaScrap Under the Sea Patterned Paper Pack were also used for this project.

Laura Gilhuly has created a summer themed scrapbook layout for our challenge today.  To create her page Laura has used Tropical Florals; Palm Tree and Blackboard Alphabet die sets.

Luciana Telesca has created a shadow box with two layers of frame. To create her card Luciana has used Garden Notes – Frame It/Stitched Circles; Garden Notes – Frame It/Stitched Squares; Garden Notes – Flowering Trees of Spring and Blackboard Alphabet die sets.

    Selma’s gorgeous Gerbera Daisies are my inspiration for a card for a friend. For my card, I would use the Garden Notes- Frame It/Stitched Ovals dies, Garden Notes Gerbera Daisy die, Trio of Leaves and the Blackboard Alphabet for my greeting of “Thinking of You”.

    I would use the Fashions stamps and dies.
    There are several sets for the Fashions and
    they would be great for birthdays or
    showers. The number or the alphabet
    would be used to show the number of
    years, etc. thanks for the chance

    Love how the Blackboard ABC’s were used on the scrapbooking page and also how well the numbers worked on the cards. I do both card and scrapbooking and love the new dies

    WoW ! the Blackboard Alphabets is the Bomb! especially with the Flamingos ! I live in Florida so I can relate with them, and the hibiscus .

    All the cards show great innovation! I would use the blackboard alphabet and numbers with the vintage hot air balloon die set and modal fly and scrap paper.

    I wood use the fancy tail swollw and happy birthday die. I wood ues glitter on the tail of the swallow.

    The Flamingo and Palm Tree dies make the perfect summer card design and work perfectly with those alphabet and number dies! I love these cards!

    I just ordered the small poinsettia and holiday holly which have another slew of words that could be used with them!

    So inspiring. Loved all the card. The numbers and letters look like a lot of fun to play with. I liked using them with the party lanterns and the moda paper. Very nice combination.

    I really like the bold look to these letters and numbers. If I could get any new stamp set to use with these, it would be Birds and Branches stamp set.

    Absolutely love the way Summer Drink die pairs with the Blackboard Alphabet die! They’re perfect together! Such a natural combo, and there are so many fabulous ways to create with the pair!

    I love all the cards and just about any die would go with the numbers and/or letters, however,, I just purchased (within a month) the Summer Drinks and I love all the dies included in the set, but it is perfect for the summer. The set just brings a fresh breath to summer.

    Lovely projects! I’m currently using a lot of the Susan’s Garden flowers (poppy, geranium, etc.) and would use those with the letters and numbers.

    I’d use the Stitched Ovals and Shasta Daisy! I can visualize the oval background and the pretty daisy on a card front! Add in a greeting with the Blackboard Alpha and it would be a beautiful card!

    I can see lots of uses for the Blackboard Alphabet or Blackboard Numbers die sets but mostly I would use them to make words that you want to convey but can’t find in any other die. Mostly slang words that are only common in the area you live in. Thanks for sharing.
