Shaker Card with Hexagon Windows

June 4, 2018

Hi, everybody! It’s Ekaterina Oleynik here with you today.

Do  you love cards with hexagon figures? I love them very much. Therefore today I want to show you such a card.

Step 1 – Cut stripes 5/8 inch wide using  three different colors of Soft Finish Cardstock from the Timeless Sampler pack. Adhere to a piece of scrap cardstock that measures approximately  6 inches x 4 1/2 inches.

Step 2 – Die cut decorated rectangle using the second largest rectangle from the Dashing Rectangles die set.

Step 3 – Die cut hexagons into the rectangle using two hexagons from the Fitted Hexagon die set. (Counting from the centre the third and fourth hexagons were used for this card).

Stamp the sentiment “Happy Summer” from the Beach Sentiments Clear Stamp set, to the left side next to the smaller hexagon. Refer to photo at top of post for correct placement.

Step 4 – Turn rectangle panel over and cover the hexagon shaped holes with acetate.

Next place foam tape all around the edges of the die cut shapes and the edge of the card. (Note make sure that the foam tape around the hexagon shapes are adhere with no gaps between them so that the shaker element used inside the shape doesn’t escape when card is finished).

Step 5 – Add pink sequins to the centre of each of the hexagon shaped holes.

Die cut a second rectangle from White Soft Finish Cardstock, the same size as you used to die cut the striped panel. Adhere the white rectangle to the foam tape so that the sequins cannot escape.

Step 6 – Adhere shaker panel to a slightly larger folded card base.

Hopefully this card will make the recipient happy with it’s bright cheerful colors.
