Hi Everyone! Marilyn here today to show you how I made a flip card using the Laundry Party clear stamp set. This is one of my favourite stamps sets and I like it because it is so versatile and can be used on many different styles and occasion cards. Instructions on how to create the card are below:
Step 1 – Begin with a 5.75” x 11.5” white cardstock base, scored and folded at 5.75”; a 5.75” x 5.75” piece of patterned paper; a 5.75” x 5.75” piece of pink cardstock.
Step 2 – From the centre fold of the white base card, measure down 3.5″ on either side and make a light pencil mark across the whole card. Find the centre of this line and then measure down approximately 1/2 inches or however much you want your angle to be. Cut from the mark at the side to the mark on the centre to create your angled flap. Trim the pink cardstock to the same angle as the white base but extend it an extra ⅛ ” longer (you can get the same angle on the pink by tracing the white angle onto the pink and measuring the additional ⅛ ”. It’s fine if the angle isn’t exactly centered because the flower die cut will cover any difference)
Step 3 – Stamp, colour and cut the floral image from the Laundry Party clear stamp set.
- An optional step is to cut a second die cut from a piece of plain white cardstock and glue to the first one. When attached to the back of the coloured image, any marker colours bleeding through won’t show plus it gives the floral piece a bit more stiffness and stability.
Step 3 – Die cut the sentiment “Thinking of You” from the Words 2 – Thinking of You die set from pink cardstock and a second set of the same words from patterned paper, Layer the two together with the patterned paper word being on top and offset slightly so the pink bottom layer can be seen on the left.
Step 4 – Before adhering the pieces together, add the brads. Apply your adhesive to the back for the white top flap layer of the card base. Add the pink cardstock layer behind the white flap of the card so that the 1/8″ edge is seen below the white flap. Adding this layer after adding the brads will help hide the back prongs and give it a neater, more finished look.
Adhere the patterned paper layer over the white card base.
- Glue a 3¼” x 4¼ “piece of white cardstock to a 3½“c 4½” of pink cardstock for writing the greeting, ensuring that it cannot be seen when the card is closed.
- Glue the flower and words to the front of the card and you are finished!
