Hi,
It’s Kelly Booth here today. One of my very favorite Elizabeth Craft Designs die sets has always been the Bee. Today I have a card for you that is real simple to create and I hope it makes you smile!
Step 1 – Cut a piece of transparency and a piece of bright yellow cardstock about 3.5′”x 5″; place a piece of the 64mm double sided adhesive on top of each of these, remove backing and pour Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter onto each piece, brush off excess and return it to the jar. Polish the glitter with a fingertip to bring out the maximum sparkle.
Step 2 – Die cut the overlays for the bees, a small heart, and the word ‘smile’ from black cardstock. Cut two bee bodies from yellow cardstock. Cut 4 wings from the glittered transparency, and from the glittered bright yellow cardstock die cut three Stitched Hexagons using the second smallest size die in the set. See photo below of all of the pieces:
Step 3 – Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock 4″.25″ x 11″ and score at 5″.5″ creating a top-fold card base. Using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape onto the hexagons, adhere them onto the card front, angled and staggered as shown in the photo. Layer the bee pieces and adhere with liquid adhesive. Attach the wings last, making sure the glittered/sparkly side is on top. Adhere the tiny heart in the center of the bottom hexagon and the word ‘smile’ at the bottom right corner using liquid adhesive.
Step 4 – Arrange and adhere 5 silver sequins in varying sizes. Here is a close up of the card front:
I hope you have enjoyed this card and tutorial today! As always, thank you so much for stopping by the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog and have a wonderful day!
