Hey Everyone! It’s Ek here, and I am coming in sharing a bit of spring. It seems that winter has finally (or hopefully) tucked herself in to hibernate and the glory of spring is finally upon my household. My daughters and I spent much of last weekend planting the garden, and my youngest demanded that this year we have flowers for the bees to feast upon. Needless to say, her enthusiasm won me over and we spent a full afternoon picking out flowers to plant and getting them into the ground and into pots. It is one of those memories I don’t want to forget so I decided to capture the moment with this week’s project using both the Garden Party stamp set and Garden Scene die set.
Step 1- Cut a 6×12 inch piece of Dusky Sky Soft Finish Cardstock, score and fold it in half for a card base. Also cut a 6×6 inch square of Whisper Blue Soft Finish Cardstock, and a 6×6 inch square of 100lb White Soft Finish Cardstock.
Step 2- Using the Garden Scene die set, die cut the scallop frame with the decorative overlay inside from the white square. Die cut just the scallop frame from the Whisper Blue Cardstock.
Step 3- Color the die cut image with alcohol markers. (Copic markers used here to lay down some simple color combinations and soft shading.)
Step 4- Adhere the die cut watecolor paper to the Whisper Blue SFC using Kids Choice Glue. Tip: Apply small dabs of the glue with a toothpick or corsage pin. Only a tiny amount is needed.
Step 5- Using Copic-friendly ink, stamp the girl from the Garden Party Clear Stamp set onto a scrap of white cardstock or watercolor paper.
Step 6- Color in the image. The pink tones were colored with R81, R83, and R85. The purple tones were colored with V01, V15, and V17. The yellow flower was colored with Y32, Y35, and Y38.
Step 7- Die cut the girl using the coordinating Garden Party die set.
Step 7- Adhere the girl to the card so she stands in front of the fence with Kids Choice glue.
Step 8- Adhere the completed panel to the front of the card base using 6mm Clear Double Side Adhesive Tape.
Step 9- Using a stamping platform to position the words and Cornflower Blue Archival Ink, stamp the words Grow, Bloom, and Blossom from the Garden Party Clear Stamp set.
Thanks for coming by today to see my spring project. I hope your weather is as fine as our has been and you find yourself with fresh memories of those you love.
