A Way With Words ModaScrap

Framed Bouquet

April 27, 2018

Hello Everyone, Christine here today with a card I have designed using the XL Happy Frame and of course some of Susan’s wonderful flower dies.   Hoping that this card today inspires to create your own framed masterpiece!

Here is how to replicate it.

Step 1 –  Cut one set of Susan’s Garden Notes Leafy Branches from green cardstock add Nuvo Crystal Drops for berries set aside to dry.

Step 2 – Form card base using White Soft Finish Cardstock cut at 7″ X 10-1/2″ scoring at 5-1/4″.  Emboss card front with embossing folder of your choice.  (Wood grain used here)

Step 3 – Using 100lb White Soft Finish Cardstock  cut 4 pieces of ModaScrap XL Happy Frame.  Using 3 or 4 Distress Oxide Inks in colors of your choice and working on a non stick craft mat rub ink pads onto mat randomly.  Spritz with a little water tap right side of frame pieces into areas of color using heat gun dry and repeat until you have look that you like.   Fold on all score lines using bone folder to crease well.  Frame measures 5-1/4″ X 7″ so they will need to be cut making sure to cut on the straight end of the pieces.  Els has a video for making the frame which can be found here.  Adhere frame to card front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive.

Step 4 –  Using White Soft Finish Cardstock (or if you are not into coloring use colored cardstock) and Susan’s Garden Notes Pansy 2, Lilac 2 and Ostrich Fern die sets cut 5 pansies, 1 set of lilacs and 1 set of ferns.  Color, shade, shape assemble.

Step 5 – Build your picture using Kids Choice Glue to adhere starting with ferns.  Add berry branches cutting them apart as needed add lilacs, pansies and leaves.

Step 6 – Using A Way With Words Small Happy Birthday die cut 1 from dark green cardstock then 1 from white cardstock that has Clear Double Sided Adhesive on back.  Adhere white Happy Birthday on top of green Happy Birthday attach to lower portion of frame with a little Kids Choice Glue.

Hope that this has given you inspiration to create your own version of this card,

Until next time – Happy Crafting!

Christine
