Love You Slider Card

March 24, 2018

Hi there!  It’s Suzanne here today.  As soon as I saw the Sliders and Spinners die set I knew that I needed to make this card.  Here it is at last!  Little bear is looking up waiting for the love to come his way.

Instructions follow so can make this card.  Join me!

Instructions:

Step 1 – Form a 7.5 x 6” tent-fold card base from a darker patterned paper. Cut a rectangular panel measuring 6 x 4.75” from medium blue patterned cardstock.  Die cut smallest circle from the Fitted Circles from the same cardstock.

Step 2 – Die cut “love” and “you” from white cardstock.

Step 3 – Stamp little bear with black ink. Allow to dry and colour with markers around the edges of the stamped image.  Blend the brown ink with a waterbrush to complete the shading.

Step 4 – Adhere “love” to the circle with a little Kids Choice Glue. Designer Tip: Instead of the circle you could use a square or other simple shape.  It just needs to be larger than two pennies side by side (one penny if you’re making a spinner card)!

Step 5 – Die cut sloped slider from the medium blue panel by positioning the slider die close to the top left corner. Save the die cut with the panel. You will adhere it to the mat underneath.  Cut a mat from coordinating paper (I used white) that is approximately 1/8” larger on all sides. Cut another mat from coordinating paper which is approximately ¼” larger than the last mat. Adhere the little bear and “you” on the main panel as shown. Designer Hindsight Tip:  Use exactly the same paper for the mat as for the front panel, then you won’t need Step 8.

Step 6 – Follow the directions for creating a slider by watching the Jungle Cuties Spinner Card video on the Elizabeth Craft Designs YouTube Channel.

Step 7 – Here are some details specific to this card. I decided to make a slider so I could control the position of “love”, although it could be fun to see how it spins! I needed two pennies side by side to make a slider.  Position the pennies at the top of the slider, with the spacers attached. Flip the panel over.

Add the other pennies.  Add foam tape.  I only needed one layer of foam tape, you may need two layers (thickness of the foam tape will determine this).

On the front, position the penny “sandwiches” in the slot as shown, with adhesive on the top of the pennies.

Add the circle with “love” in the orientation you desire.

Step 8 – Tape the Slider/Spinner diecut in place with removable tape. Add adhesive to the back of the diecut and carefully position it over the mat (mine was white) you cut earlier and press to adhere the diecut to the mat.  Carefully peel the removable tape from the front. The diecut should be perfectly positioned to hide the colour of the background mat. Designer Hindsight Tip:  If you used the same paper for the mat as for the front panel, then you won’t need to do this step!

Step 9 – Adhere the Slider panel to a white panel (leaving a very narrow border), then to a lighter blue patterned paper panel; adhere to the card front to complete the project.

Step 10 – Slide “love” to “you” and smile!
