Hello everyone! It’s Siqi here with an oh so very green card. I really like the sketchy look of all the images that Krista Schneider designed. I chose to use several cacti from the Cacti stamp set to create my own patterned background for a shaker card.
Step 1: Using permanent black ink, repeatedly stamp several cacti images on a piece of watercolor paper.
- Color the whole panel with some green color watercolor paints. (A very light wash done here.)
- Color each cactus. (Skip the little flowers on the cacti to keep the background mostly green.)
Step 2: When the watercolor panel is dry, use the second largest rectangle die from the Stitched Rectangles die set to cut the panel.
Step 3: Use the fifth largest circle die from the Dashing Circles die set to cut a circle window for the shaker part.
Step 4: Cut a piece of fun foam to be slightly smaller than the watercolor panel. Use the same circle die to cut a circle in the fun foam piece to go under the watercolor panel.
Step 5: Adhere the watercolor panel and the fun foam together with a piece of acetate in between.
- Fill the shaker with sequins in different shades of green.
- Adhere a piece of True Green Soft Finish Cardstock to the back, sealing the contents of the shaker within the circle.
Step 6: Create an A2 card base from True Green Soft Finish Cardstock and adhere the shaker panel onto it.
Step 7: Stamp ‘You’re So Sharp!’ onto a piece of Rich Black Soft Finish Cardstock with white pigment ink or VersaMark ink, sprinkle with white embossing powder and heat-emboss. Cut a V at each end to create a banner shape. Adhere across the shaker using foam tape to add dimension.
Step 8: Glue on some sequins (same colors as inside the shaker).
I don’t always go with the color green, but when I do, I seem to use a lot of greens. LOL. Hope you like today’s card and find it inspiring. I will see you again soon.
