Warm Memories

Hi, it’s Sandy Diller here today to share a card that was inspired by one of my teammates at A Vintage Journey, Anne Redfern.   She talked about some of her childhood memories – among them, ice skating. It made me think of building a snowman and how we had some wonderful warm mittens to wear when it was cold outside.  I hope you will enjoy my memories of a cold winter day.

The finished size of this card is 4.75″ X 6″ with a top fold.  Begin with a solid color cardstock rectangle measuring 12″ X 4.75″. Score at 6″ and fold to make the card base.

  1. Using largest die in the Stitched Rectangles set, cut one dark brown cardstock panel.
  2. Using second largest die from same set, cut a wood grain panel with the plans running vertically.
  3. Using the Winter Mittens die set, cut a pair of mittens and the bow string.
  4. Using the Sled die set, cut 6 flowers and 3 sets of leaves.
  5. Using the Entwined Circles die set, cut 2 white snowflakes.
  6. Using the Memories die, cut the word twice from white cardstock.
  7. Using the Warm Thoughts die set, cut the word Warm twice.

8.  Layer and adhere the two rectangles onto the card base.

9.  Stack and glue the two layers of words for dimension; adhere to card.

10.  Using the Susan’s Garden Tool Set, shape and cup 3 of the flowers and layer one on top of each of the 3 remaining (flat) flowers. Crease the leaves in the center as shown above.

11.  Complete the mittens. Arrange and adhere the snowflakes, flowers and mittens as shown, using foam tape behind the mittens for dimension.

12.  Optional: Add a drop of Yellow Nuvo Drops to center of flowers and bow and a drop of Clear Nuvo Drops to the snowflakes.  Add Wink of Stella to the words for extra sparkle.

I hope this card brings some warm memories your way,

Sandy
