Elizabeth Craft Designs Designer Challenge – November

Hi everyone!

It’s time for another Elizabeth Craft Designs Designer Challenge with the Die Cut and Coloring Design Teams.

This month the challenge is …. Pop Up Cards using the General Pop Ups die set. It is always fun to open up a card that reveals something popped up inside and they are so easy to create when you have this remarkable die set. There are so many different options for creating pop up cards. Use just one die or combine multiple dies along the centre fold and create an endless array of fun pop-ups!

If you want even more ideas showing how to use the General Pop Ups die set, Els and Joset have two videos at Technique Friday with Els on YouTube. You can find Joset’s Birthday Pop-up here and Els’ Christmas Pop-up Card here.

For our Challenge today we are giving away a $20 Gift Card to use on the Elizabeth Craft Designs website to 3 winners.

To enter, simply leave a comment on this blog post below and answer this question: What Elizabeth Craft Designs dies or stamp sets would you use with the General Pop-Ups die set if you were making a Pop-Up Card?

We will select 3 lucky winners in a random drawing.

The winners will be announced on Friday, November 24th, here on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog.

  1. Like the reindeer die and the Christmas sentiment stamp set . I can’t remember which one it was. But really, I love everything you have. Would be difficult but also fun to choose between everything.

  2. The samples are all great. I’d choose the snow globe and the pumpkins. So hard to choose. The snowman is so darned cute too!

  3. Awesome creations! Love all these fun pop up cards! I love snowmen that is one I’d make for sure! And I just bought your delightful set of dies at the Sacramento convention with the cute scarecrow…. so I’d definitely make a pop up card with a fall scene including the scarecrow!

  4. I already have the Christmas tree pop up. Would love to have the general pop up set to place a Santa or candy canes inside card as well!

  5. Wow, what a great cards has the Design Team created,. This way you can very clearly see that you can make many different cards with the Pop-Up Dies.
If I would make a Pop-Up card I would like to use the Reindeer Die (1408), I think that this is a die you also can use for a more masculine birthday card than only for Winter/Holiday cards.

LOVE the fancy folds and sweet scenes, the dimension inside is a fun treat when the card is opened!
Thank You for sharing, inspiring and the chance to win 🙂

  7. Hi, I would defenitly use the Stylish Snowman with Reindeer dies to a pop up card. Beautiful ideas from everyone.

  8. WOW….. That is truly a hard one. There are three that are right at the top of my list but they are all very stinkin’ cute!!!
The first one is the bears of course, then the Reindeer and then it’s a toss up between the Gingerbread House and the Candy Lane.

  9. I made several pop up cards when I was a kid, but they were pretty flimsy affairs and I could have used a nice pop up die set back then! If I made one now, I would go straight for the winter bears set, which is ridiculously adorable!!

  10. I so love pop ups. The design team did a fabulous job on their cards! There are lots of ECD items that would be fun to pop up, the pinwheel, winter birds, lighthouse, the shark from the sailor’s life set. The list just keeps on going.

  11. These are really pretty. I especially like the pumpkins. I’d probably do a Christmas theme with the trees and deer.

  12. I loved all of the designer’s pop up cards. If I made one today I would use the penguin stamp set and dies. They are so cute and festive for Christmas and my granddaughters would love them!

  13. These pop up cards are just spectacular and I especially like the snowy woodland scenes with the deer. These pop up dies can be used to make cards for every season and occasion.

  14. There are so many possibilities but think I would use a barn, a fence and a horse and then a few extra embellishments.

  15. These cards are all great! I would use the Festive Glow die set. I love it and hope to use it for some of my holiday pop-up cards. Thanks.

  16. Just when I think I have a favorite, along comes another cute pop up card! They are
all so fun and beautiful. I only have a handful of dies by ECD. I would use Chilly the Penguin
for my first try at a pop up card (I’ve never made one).

  17. These cards are all great! I would use the Festive Glow die to make a pop up card. I’m planning to do this for my Christmas cards! Wish me luck.

  18. I make a lot of birthday cards, so I would use the Bird-day party stamps and dies to make some cute pop-up cards.

  19. I love to make winter cards so I would use your ski and sweater dies as well as your woodland creatures. Thanks for the opportunity to win.

  20. Birgit and Katelyn’s deer 🦌 scenescapes and Anita’s lovely Winter Wonderland scene are my top three favorites but I love them all!
If I was using the General Pop-ups Dies I would pair them with Gingerbread Home 🏡. There would also be lots of Gingerbread boys and girls popping up everywhere for maximum fun! TFS! 🤞✨🤞✨🤞

  21. These are really great. I just bought one of your pop up dies and haven’t tried it yet. I think the calligraphy words are great with pop ups. Since it’s that time of year, i’d Choose Merry Christmas.

  22. I would definitely use the Reindeer with the general popups, I so love that card. All of the cards are so cute, though!

  23. These samples are beautiful. I like the Stylish Snowman. It makes a cute traditional card. Thank you.

  24. All so beautiful. I would use the Reindeer and Trees I think as they would be so versatile at any time.

  25. I would use the pumpkin and the reindeer dies! Love these 2. They would be versatile to use with the pop ups!

  26. I love interactive cards and I love making them. I would have to say for me, it would be the Winter Bear Set. The bears are so cute and would be great as a pop up.

  27. Being an Aussie I would have to choose the Sun and Surf stamp and die set because for some of us Christmas celebrations usually involves water and swimming. So for me a pop up card with glistening water, sand and surf boards – an ‘any’ occasion stamp and die set.

  28. I like using Elizabeth die cuts, l look forward to the Scrapbook Expo in Akron,Ohio each year. I do popup cards and love creating new ideas with them.

  29. I would try the Gingerbread Homes and Reindeer die sets as well as Winter Sentiments. They are all cute and would be just as fun to receive and it would be to make them.

  30. Such gorgeous cards! I love them all, but my favorite is reindeer, christmas trees , snowflakes card.

  31. I really love all the sample cards shown on here. I think my favorite, that I would like is the reindeer and trees die set. I also like the polar bear set. Thanks for showing them.

  32. I would use the Reindeer and Adventure set. Your cards are striking! I was at the Birch Run Expo and you were my favorite vendor.

  33. The snowglobe is the one… I can already see numerous ways to use the pop up. Being a Realtor I am always looking for items to include in the Congratulations baskets for my clients and I can see myself creating a card with a picture of their new home in the center of the globe and another use is using it as a gumball machine card for the young children and young at heart.

  34. Oh my goodness all of the ideas you have posted are fantastic!! I would use the snow globe for so many different celebrations. I can already see the cards that I will create with this pop up and the other items that went along with the samples. Being a Realtor I am always looking for creative ways to add to their thank you basket and having this set would be a big plus. You can use the pop up die as a bubble gum machine which will be a hit with the children of my clients and of course I would use the globe to put a picture of their home into.. Those are just 2 quick ideas that come to mind for me.
Thank you for the opportunity to win and good luck to everyone who enters the contest, Happy Thanksgiving…

  35. Love the snowman, Christmas tree and always PUMPKINS. Love all the wonderful cards in this post. Thank you foe sharing.

  36. That’s a really tough question because as we can see from all the great samples, you can use almost anything. I personally like using characters (Ghosts, Hedgehog, Gingerbread Man, etc.) and scenery (Pumpkin set, Haunted House set, Halloween Scenery, etc.) with pop-ups. But the possibilities are limitless. Thanks for all the great inspiration!

  37. I would use the winter bears set with the pop up dies. Love those bears! and I adore Kelly’s sample! Looking forward to a chance to win!

  38. These are really pretty. I especially like the pumpkins. I’d probably do a Christmas theme with the trees and deer.

  39. Oh – how much fun! These products and ideas are awesome! I would love to create a pop-up card with the Row Houses Clear Stamps and Dies. I can just imagine making one for each of my neighbors and dropping it off along with some yummy pumpkin bread to celebrate the upcoming yule-tide season. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! 🎄❣️🏡❣️🏘❣️🦃

  40. With the general pop-up dies, I would like to use the Garden Notes Crate and the Black Eyed Susan dies for a cute happy card with any of the birthday or general sentiments depending on the person it was going to. The black eyed susans are so fun and just pop!

  41. I love pop-up cards – and these are some of the best I have seen 🙂 So many nifty ideas! One pop-up I would love to make would combine Garden Edges Rose Hedge and Bird-day Party. I think the Garden Edges Rose Hedge would be a perfect back-drop for some cute little birdies having a party! 🙂

  42. Pop up cards are so much fun. My grandchildren get a thrill when receiving them.
My oldest loves penguins…so I would use the penguin stamp and dies…which by the way are on sale today!

  43. Awesome pop up cards from the design team. Pop up cards are so much fun. I love the pumpkin patch idea ans will remember this for next year.

  44. Such gorgeous cards!!
    Pop-ups are so much fun!
    You are all so talented!!
I love the snow globe and
    the Reindeer but it’s
    pretty impossible to
    chose!! Thx for sharing!

  45. These cards are all sooo cute!!
Every card I see I want to try
to make!! Wishing I could own
    everything you have!! I really
    love those bears!! Thx for
    sharing such amazing projects!!
    Dana from Quebec

  46. All of the cards are just great. I would love to have the following: Stylish Snowman, Christmas Trees, Snowman & Gifts, Reindeer and Adventure Edges, Snowglobe Scene .

  47. I love pop up cards! all of these are amazing. Love the polar bear stamp/die set too. Els did a demo with it and it’s on my wishlist! thanks so much for the chance!

  48. Winter Bears or Candy Land, Winter Bears or Candy Land. Hmmmm It’s a toss up.
    I guess Winter Bears

  49. The cards I make the most are birthday cards, so I would probably use the cake and cupcake dies the most, and then maybe tree dies would be used a lot as well. The flourished frame as a pop up would be great too, and then whatever appropriate sentiment in the frame.

  50. My favorite is the stamp set Snowman and Gifts. I can’t wait to try making one of these pop out cards.

  51. Really Love Selma’s, Kelly’s, Susan’s, Anita’s Take on this Pop Up Challenge! Beautifully Made Works of Art! Sure To Bring SMILES Near, Far, Across The Miles with their Creative Works of Art! Well Done Ladies! Great Job!

  55. Great inspirational cards. I especially like Kelly Booth’s and would definitely love to have the Candy Land set that she used to make a pop-up card!

  56. I’d use the Gingerbread house and little ones with the candy canes. Gingerbread just says “the Holidays are coming”

  57. I would use the penguin set with the matching die set or the polar bears. They both are so cute! I love pop up cards but have not made any. I love all these examples/ideas!! Thank you for posting them!!!!!

  58. Happy Thanksgiving,I would definitely use the Reindeer / with Adventure edges. This makes such a beautiful holiday card.I just love it.The bears are adorable too.

  59. I love sending pop-up cards and have used all kinds of die-cut and stamped animals, sentiments, and objects.
Among my favorites are the cats, butterflies, and owls images from Elizabeth Crafts. Thanks for all the inspiring
    designs and card ideas.

  60. Great pop up cards! I would use Suzanne Cannon’s Love, Joy and Peace Ornament on a pop up card as it is my favorite new Christmas die set and I featured it in my latest YouTube video.

  61. I love the snow globe and would use this die to place animals that have crossed the rainbow bridge and give it to my clients.

  62. I would use the owl set. I have it and have found so many uses for it for all different occasions. I have to get this pop up card die too!

  63. It would have to be the Snowman and gifts die set #1359 with the matching stamps. Why? Because the little birds are so charming! The perfect styling with the snowmen and gifts!

  64. OMG! You’ve just proved to me that perhaps I can actually make some very noteworthy Christmas cards even this late in the season!

I miss those childhood days when we ALWAYS had snow for Christmas. I’d definitely choose the Ornate Snowflakes to create a shower of crystals (both popped up and also against the flat background) in a variety of colors– pure white and a range of blues. Finish it off with with one of Suzanne Cannon’s Way With Words calligraphy beauties, probably “Believe,” which would make the card appropriate for whatever winter holiday one chooses to celebrate. No coloring needed (thank goodness, because I stink at it)!

  65. I think I’d use the Reindeer in the woods and the Merry Christmas words on my pop up. Another might be the stitched rectangles and the row houses.

  66. My sweet friend Birgit Norton sent me, and I’m SO happy she did! What an amazing collection of fun pop-up cards, ladies! Well done… you make it look so easy – and WHO could not smile when opening?
    Fingers crossed!

  67. I am really getting to the pop ups. I just finished the Karen Burniston’s Sleigh Pop-Up. Going to start on the House & Fence Pop-up, then Christmas Tree Pop-up. The pop-up above are so cute.

Els, is a good instructor on all her cards. Also love all the cards that Karen Burniston comes up with, and of course the is the all the flowers that Susan has. All your designers make such beautiful cards.
    Shirley Anglin

  68. When I was reading the question about what dies I would use. Automatically I thought snowglobe, reindeer,or poinsettia. Then scrolling down I saw that the design team also had used a few of these ideas. What an amazing job as well
