Garden Notes – Love in a Mist

October 30, 2017

Hello everyone! Angela here.  It is always so exciting when Susan releases new dies! This time, along with some beautiful foliage and accessories, she has released a blue flower – Love in a Mist. It is beautiful and delicate and so easy to put together. Using it and the new Ladder Fern, I’ve made an any-occasion card using a piece of old sheet music as the background.

Here’s how it comes together.

Step 1 –  Create a 5 1/2 inch card base using 100lb White Soft Finish Cardstock.

Step 2 –  Using the largest of the Stitched Circles dies, cut a piece of sheet music. Shade the edges using Distress Oxide ink. Attach to card front.

Step 3 –  Cut the Ladder Fern pieces from 85lb White Soft Finish Card Stock and colour using Copic markers. Shape them using the leaf tool on a rubber block. Attach to card front using Kids Choice Glue.

Step 4 – For each flower, cut 2 of the smooth petals and 1 each of the other pieces from 85lb Soft Finish Card Stock. Colour using Copic Markers. Shape the petals using the 4 piece tool kit, molding pad and leaf pad. To shape the stamen, use the small ball stylus to cup each stamen top before rolling up.  Assemble the flowers and glue to card front.

Step 5 – Cut 3 sets of the small branches from the Flourishes and Branches set from 85lb White Soft Finish Cardstock. Use Perfect Pearls to create a bead on each round section. Let dry. Attach to card front.

Hope you enjoy this lovely new flower!
