A Pink Christmas

October 25, 2017

Hi,  It’s Kelly Booth here. I knew after this year and my breast cancer journey that my Christmas cards this year needed to be Pink :).  I saw a card created by Debbie Olsen and was immediately inspired to use the ECD Snowflakes to make some beautiful Pink Christmas cards.

  1. Cut three pieces of pink cardstock 4″.25″ by 11″ and score in half creating 4″.25 by 5″.5″ top folding cards.
  2. Using the three Snowflake dies from the Becky Seddon Snowflakes die set cut one of each out of Fun Foam. Add a little temporary adhesive on the back of each Snowflake and place the three snowflakes on either a Misti or stamp press or even a large block but to get identical placed snowflakes and to make it easier you need a stamp platform. There are several on the market.
  3. Ink the snow flakes with a pink ink and stamp down a few times until you get the desired look. Do this with all three of the cards. Put the cards back in the same position and ink the snowflakes with a VersaMark ink and stamp over top of the snowflakes stamped in pink. Then shake on some clear embossing powder and heat emboss.

4. I ended up wanting another snowflake to fill in on my card bases so stamped another one of the medium ones the same way and heat embossed it.

5.  Cut three strips of White Soft Finish Cardstock 1″.5 x 4″.25″ place each piece in the stamp platform or Misti smooth side up and use the same process with the pink ink and VersaMark ink as we did above using the sentiment from the Winter Sentiments Clear Stamp set.

6. Die cut three large snowflakes out of White Soft Finish Cardstock and also out of Translucent Vellum.

7. Cut a strip of the pink card stock about 3″ x 11″, place the  64mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape onto this strip. Peel back the backing and rub in some ECD Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter with your fingers really good. Shake off excess and wipe away with a Swiffer.

8. From the Glittered cardstock cut three small snowflakes from the set. Place a little dab of liquid glue on the back center of each snowflake and build your snowflake with the white soft finish to the back placing it down toward the top center of your card. Then Place the Vellum on and then the pink glittered one. Add a few strips of the 10mm Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape on the back of each sentiment strip and place it towards the bottom of your card.

9. To finish off the card add a pink rhinestone in the center and two small ones one toward the top and one by the sentiment using a little spot of glue.

I hope this has inspired you to use a non traditional color and make some Christmas cards, for me the Pink is so meaningful this year.  Thank You for stopping by the Elizabeth Craft Designs Blog today and have a wonderful day!

Kelly

So pretty, & so unexpected. It works so well together, & was so smart of you to think to do it that way. May the Lord Bless you this coming year and keep His hand upon you. Lisa
