Celebrate Every Victory

August 23, 2017

Hello friends, Piyanki here today welcoming you to a brand new post. Hydrangeas have been one of my favourites from the Susan’s Garden collection and I thoroughly enjoy using the hydrangea dies every single time I make a project with them. The flowers themselves are so vibrant and can be created with so many variations in the colors, just like in nature.

This time instead of using inks, paints, glitter, micro beads and such – what I usually do for backgrounds – I used some dies to create a simple, elegant white-on-white panel. I think the sentiment – “Celebrate every victory, no matter how small” – speaks volumes.

Here’s how I created the project:

Instructions

Step 1: Cut, score and fold white cardstock for a side-fold A2 card base (5.5″ x 4.25″). Top with a contrasting color rectangle, leaving a narrow white border.

Step 2: Die cut two pieces of white cardstock with the Postage Stamp Rectangles dies. Add to the card front.

Step 3: Die cut white cardstock with the Entwined Circles dies. Cut into random pieces and adhere to the card base. (The combination of Postage Stamp Rectangles and Entwined Circles pieces complete the card base.)

Step 4: Die cut enough white cardstock pieces with Garden Notes Hydrangea 2 set dies to create two hydrangea heads, plus leaves and stems. Color with PanPastels. Shape with the appropriate tools and mats.

Step 5: Arrange and glue the flowers, leaves, and stems onto the card front as shown.

Step 6: Stamp the sentiment. Trim the rectangle and curve it as shown. Glue down only the ends to maintain the curve.
