One Box, Many Ways

July 27, 2017

Hello to all!

It is Anita here. Today, I have some fun gift boxes for you to make. Gifting is an essential part of our lives and if done beautifully, it leaves fond memories.

Elizabeth Craft Designs has some wonderful dies that can be used to make boxes in a variety of shapes. I am going to feature the Pillow Box with Handle.

I have used a variety of dies to cut the embellishments. The possibilities are endless.

Each box starts by die cutting and assembling the Pillow Box with Handle die. Here is a tutorial explaining what else I did.

Red Pillow Box –

The red box has a simple flap and a magnetic snap closure. The flap incorporates two corners die cut with both Romantic Corner Dies and a bow tied of natural twine.

White Feathered Pillow Box –

This box uses paper from the ModaScrap Butterfly Dreams Paper Pack. It has a band around it, made with strips die cut with the Diamond Background die. The strips for front and back are distressed with Black Soot Distress ink, layered onto black cardstock. Two feathers die cut using the Feathers die set have been distressed with Black Soot Distress Ink and then textured using Glossy Accents and Black Silk Microfine Glitter.  These have been tied to the top of the handle with black twine.  The strips are adhered at the back and front using Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape.

Pink Polka Dot Pillow Box –

The pink polka dot box was created using paper from the ModaScrap Sweet Vintage Rose Paper Pack.  It features the same diamond background as used in the previous box, however this time the background panel was cut wider. Dotted ribbons were added to the background panel of this box.

Green Pillow Box –

The green pillow box uses paper from ModaScrap Cucina with Love Paper Pack.  To embellish this box the ModaScrap Flower Lace 2 die was used to die cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock to  add a delicate, feminine touch.

There are many other ways to decorate these boxes. You won’t run out of ideas!

They’re just right for wrapped candies, a cookie or two, and other small, lightweight gifts. Have fun decorating yours!
