Stretch Your Dies Card by Anita Kejriwal

Hello folks !!!

Welcome to the ECD blog. It’s die cutting time today and I am here to show how we can stretch our dies by re-arranging die cut pieces to create beautiful card bases. Elizabeth Craft Designs’ dies can be used in so many ways to create a variety of projects and it’s great to play with them and take them beyond their original shape.

I have used the Leaf Pocket die from ModaScrap for my card. Instead of leaving it it was first cut I have trimmed it into pieces within the design to create a background.

INSTRUCTIONS

1.. Cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock and randomly add colours with Worn Lipstick, Wilted Violet and Peeled Paint Distress Oxide inks. When dry, adhere to a 5.5″ x 7.5″ white side-fold card base.

2. Die cut the Leaf Pocket from White Soft Finish Cardstock. (Option: Die cut from purple or lavender cardstock and skip step 3.)

3. Cut apart the die cut Leaf Pocket to give you the pieces shown. Colour with a combination of Wilted Violet Distress Oxide and Wilted Violet Distress Ink to create a soft blended shade of purple. Adhere to the card front as shown below. Important: Use glue only on the sides and bottom of the ‘pocket’ piece so the top remains open. It will be used as an actual pocket when the card is assembled.

4. Die cut several flowers and leaves and two tags from White Soft Finish Cardstock using the dies shown in the photo below. Colour the flowers and leaves using Distress Inks. Edge the tags with Wilted Violet.

5. Shape the petals. Layer the flowers to make one lush flower. Add some clear-drying glue to the petals and sprinkle with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter. When dry, glue Prills to the center of the flower for more detail and dimension.

6. Stamp a sentiment on one tag. Score raised parallel lines lengthwise on the second tag for dimension and add the flower and leaves. Add ribbon to tie the two tags together.

7. Tuck the tied tags into the leaves as shown. Glue a few sequins to the background and onto the flower.

The Finished card.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good day.
