Welcome Back!
DT Melanie here sharing a fun little mix of two different stamp sets by Krista Schneider for Elizabeth Craft Designs. The kitty is part of the Purr Clear Stamp set. This little orange tabby just looked like he was up to no good so I paired him up with the thought bubble and ball of yarn from the Dreamers’ Clear Stamp set.
Both of the above-mentioned clear stamp sets also have matching die sets to coordinate with them.
This little rascal has been colored using Copic markers. Isn’t he precious?
Directions to replicate this card …
Step 1 – Cut a piece of dark blue cardstock measuring 6″ x 12″; score at 6″, fold in half to form the card base.
Step 2 – Cut a contrasting color piece of cardstock (yellow) measuring 5 3/4″ x 5 3/4″.
Step 3 – From patterned paper cut a piece of cardstock a tad bigger than the 5″ square and die cut using the Dotted Scallop die set.
Step 4 – For the centre squares that are set on a point (like a diamond), cut the blue cardstock to 3 3/4″ square, die cut the yellow Dotted Scallop piece at 3 1/4″ square and the white Dotted Scallop piece at 2 1/2″ square.
Step 5 – Stamp, color and die cut the kitty and the thought bubble with ball of yarn.
Step 6 – To assemble: First, attach the scallop edge pattern paper to the yellow cardstock. Then wrap some twine around the two layers before attaching to the blue card base. This gives the kitty a little yarn to actually play with 😉
Step 7 – Next, adhere the 3″ “on point” squares. Finally, add the kitty and the thought bubble with ball of yarn, using foam tape to add dimension.
