Hello Crafty Friends,
DT Melanie here today to share a die-inspired project. I decided to have a little fun with the Tags & More 1 – Lace die set, along with several other sets. Let’s take a look…
Easy Instructions:
Step 1:
Select papers for both the background as well as for the lacy top layer of the tag. Shown: Yellow patterned paper for the base, wood grain print for the second layer. Using wide Clear Double Sided Adhesive Tape (or Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet) on the back of the papers before die cutting allows for easy assembly later.
Step 2:
Using the flower-shaped hole reinforcement and curvy corner piece from the Tags & More 1 – Lace set, cut yellow pieces. The set has a wonderful selection of decorative pieces to embellish and strengthen your tags. A photo of the set follows the supply list so you can see what is included.
Step 3:
Assemble the tag pieces.
Step 4:
Die cut a Leafy Branch 4 from green patterned paper. Glue it to the tag at an angle as shown in the photo.
Step 5:
Die cut two Dancing Butterflies, one from the yellow and another from the wood grain paper. Do not use double sided adhesive in this step. Adhere the butterflies to the tag – bodies only so the wings can be bent upward for dimension, offset from the branch (not perched directly on it). The wood grain butterfly goes first so the darker color will create the look of a shadow, then the yellow one. This gives an illusion of the butterfly flying.
Step 6:
Die cut the word Smile and glue it to the tag at the lower left.
Step 7:
Finish off the tag with ribbon and trim.
