Feather Trio

March 19, 2017

By Els van de Burgt

It’s been a long while since I’ve been the guest designer on our blog. It’s fun to be in my studio for two whole weeks instead of on the road. Today’s project is my way of celebrating the new Feathers die set as well as Tim Holtz’s brand new Distress Oxide inks – a great combo!

The Distress Oxide inks are just amazing. I love how they respond with water, how you can combine colors without messing up, and how easy it is to get terrific results. I used them for a spattered looking background on my card as well as for the banner and feathers.

Wednesday With Shelly – Pop it Ups Double Z-Fold Card

March 15, 2017

Hi all! It’s Shelly Hickox with you today, sharing a fun alternative way to use your Pop it Ups Iron Fence Die. I’m always a huge fan of finding new ways to use my favorite dies, and when I saw the cool pop-up Double Z-Fold cards that have been popular lately, I thought the Iron Fence would be perfect to adapt for this fold.

Magical, right?! What I love is that it will fold completely flat for mailing, and shouldn’t require any extra postage. You can go crazy with the fussy-cut embellishments like I’ve done here, or keep it simple. Read on to see how to make one of your own.
