Gorgeous Tulips from Susan’s Garden

February 15, 2017

Hello my dear friends and welcome to the ECD blog.

It’s Pavitra here. I love to make flowers and it’s so easy to create gorgeous natural looking flowers  with Susan’s Garden flower dies. The Hydrangea, Gerbera Daisies, Roses, and Tulip are among the newest release and you will surely love all of them.

Today I have a card that showcases the new Garden Notes Tulip 2 . It’s a congratulations card with flowers placed against wooden background created using Soft Finish Cardstock.

The finished card measures 6″ x 8-1/2″ and here is how it was created:

  1. Cut white cardstock 12″ x 8-1/2″, score at 6″ and fold to create the 6″ x 8-1/2″ card base.
  2. For the wooden panel cut Soft Finish Cardstock 5-3/4″ x 8-1/4″ and score at every 3/4″ inch to create indented lines like wood paneling. Randomly apply Kids Choice Glue and blend several Distress Inks on top to ‘age’ the wood. (Shown: Iced Spruce, Weathered Wood, Chipped Sapphire). Place metal brads as shown. Distress the edges and adhere to the card base with 3D foam tape.

3. Die cut 3 square frames from Soft Finish Cardstock using smallest square from Stitched Squares die set.

4. Die cut 4 rectangle frames from Soft Finish Cardstock using smallest rectangle from Stitched Rectangles die set.

5. Die cut Soft Finish Cardstock with Berry Branch Die twice.

6. Die cut butterflies from Soft Finish Cardstock using Garden Notes – Bugs & Butterflies die set. Color the butterflies.

6. Create 8 tulip flowers using Garden Notes Tulip 2 die set. Die cut petals, leaves and stems from Soft Finish Cardstock. Color, then shape using Susan’s Garden Club Tools, Molding Pad, and Leaf Pad. Add Prills to stamens, using a small amount of quick drying glue.

7. Using the project photo as a reference, glue all of the elements in place. Finish the card with a sentiment. Optional: To add more sparkle, add a little more glue and some Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter on the flowers and card base.

I really hope you like my card. Be sure to visit Elizabeth Craft Designs for all the wonderful  products to make your own cards.
