Beautiful

It’s Suzanne here today with a sweet and simple card, just right for Valentine’s Day or whenever you want to send a rose to someone special. I love how the Flourished Heart forms a vase! Hand-write “You Are” above “Beautiful” and it says it all. Or if you don’t feel confident about your handwriting, leave the front as shown and simply add the words ‘You Are Beautiful’ (along with any additional hand-written or computer-generated message) to the inside of the card.

Here is how you can make it –

Instructions:

Form a tent-fold card base measuring 7” x 5” from dark pink cardstock. Cut a panel from white Soft Finish Cardstock measuring 6.25” x 4” and cut a mat from dark green cardstock leaving a 1/8” border on all sides. Adhere these panels.
Die cut Beautiful once from pale pink and once from dark pink cardstock. Die cut the Flourished Heart from pale pink. Die cut the Rose 2 elements from dark green and pale pink. Brush the pink petals with PanPastels Magenta from the PanPastels Flower Coloring Kit 1.
Adhere the dark pink Beautiful diecut behind the pale diecut, slightly offsetting it to form a drop shadow effect. Adhere to the white panel as shown.
Assemble the Garden Notes Rose 2 per Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s video tutorial with a slight variation in the stem. Trim the leaf from the stem.
Finger roll the Flourished Heart so it is slightly bowed. It will be the container for the rose. Apply adhesive to the left and right edges of the flourish and to the bottom point and adhere to the white panel. (Beacon Kids Choice glue is the consistency of toothpaste and it grabs quickly, but you’ll need to hold the curved Flourished Heart in place for a few seconds to ensure it doesn’t try to pop up.)
Trim the rose stem so the flower peeks out of the top of the heart. Adhere the trimmed leaf as shown.
Adhere the matted white panel to the card base with foam adhesive for dimension.
