Silk Microfine Glitter Soft Finish Cardstock

You are The One – The Ivy Vine

January 25, 2017

Hello Everyone, Piyanki here, welcoming you to my crafty space. I am super excited and honored as this is my first post on the ECD blog. Thanks for including me in the wonderful creative team. I am for sure enjoying working with the beautiful dies by Elizabeth Craft Designs.

Today I am working with three of Susan’s Garden Club die sets – Ivy Vine, Cherry Blossoms, Anemone.

This is how I created the card.

The finished card is 6″x 6″  made from White Soft Finish Cardstock 110 lb using Ivy Vine, Cherry Blossom and Anemone dies, sparkle added with Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter.

  • Cut a 6″x 12″ piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock (SFC); score it at 6″ and fold it in half for the card base.
  • Cut 9 pieces measuring 1.6″ x 1.6″ from any patterned paper to create the second layer (tile effect).
  • Die cut 3 pieces of Ivy Vine and shape it using Susan’s Garden Metal Tool.
  • Die Cut 11 sets of Cherry Blossom flowers. Shape them using the metal tool. (Watch Susan’s Video for the perfect shaping technique here).
  • Die cut the buds from the Anemone Die from yellow cardstock and shape them for the small flowers.
  • Stamp any sentiment and glitter the background using Warm Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter on top of Clear Double Sided Adhesive Sheet.
  • Place the 9 small squares onto the card base, spacing as shown. Use foam squares or foam tape to create the 3-D look.
  • Arrange the vines and the flowers to create the climbing, creeping and trailing look.
  • Add the stamped sentiment, centered on a piece of frayed burlap or other fabric.

It’s a very simple card with the focus on the vines and flowers :). The final card is shown again below:

Do share how you like my card and also share what you create with the beautiful dies which are available to purchase now. Till then, Happy Crafting!
