Hello again, friends! It’s Annette Green with Susan’s Garden Team here today with a festive holiday tag. While in the craft store the other day I was inspired by the pretty displays combining vintage pinks and platinum golds. Such a beautiful combination. I’ve combined both of Susan’s poinsettia dies to create a Marble Pink Poinsettia tag. Let me show you the steps so you can try one yourself.

The Marble Pink Poinsettia is quite different from the standard red or bright pink ones. It’s a marbly pink down the center of each leaf and feathers out to an ivory edge. Here’s how I mimicked the look…

1. Cut a tag from pattern paper using the Tags & More 1 – Lace die. My tag is 6″ long, but you can make yours any length you desire.

2. Cut ivory cardstock and a piece of double-sided adhesive 3 1/2″ x 6 1/2″. Peel the brown backing from the adhesive sheet and adhere onto the ivory cardstock.

3. Run the adhesive sheet/cardstock through your cutting machine using the tag die. Trim to the same length of your pattern paper tag.

4. Peel away the adhesive protector sheet and press the pattern paper tag onto the cardstock tag. Sprinkle Light Brass Silk Microfine Glitter onto the exposed adhesive. Rub with your finger, then brush away any excess glitter.

5. Place 3/8″ double-sided adhesive across the bottom of the tag and press ribbon along it, scrunching and pressing as you go.

6. Stamp some snowflakes with a compatible colored ink, then add a bow to the top of your tag.

7. Prepare your poinsettias. Die cut one large poinsettia and two of each size of the remaining leaves from ivory cardstock, then die cut one large and two leaves from medium green cardstock. Repeat this step two more times using the Small Poinsettia die.

8. To color the poinsettias, begin by pressing a Tattered Rose Distress Ink pad onto a non-stick craft mat several times to transfer the ink.

9. Using a water brush or a wet paintbrush to lift some of the color off the craft sheet, then paint the color onto the poinsettias, leaving the outer edges ivory. (Tip: It’s best to score and vein the poinsettia pieces before painting so as to allow the ink to settle into the scored lines.)

10. Continue painting all the ivory pieces for each poinsettia in the same manner.

11. Fold away from the center score line on each leaf and use a dauber or sponge to ink along the ridge with Tattered Rose Distress Ink.

12. Score a center line and vein lines on all green pieces, then ink the edges with Forest Moss Distress Ink.

13. Shape the poinsettia pieces using the reverse tweezers and medium ball stylus as Susan demonstrates in her video. Assemble.

14. After assembling your poinsettias, you can add the centers using the die, or you can use Prills like I did here.

15. Stamp a sentiment onto ivory cardstock (I’ve used a Platinum embossing powder) and cut apart each word. Curve the stamped word strips and adhere to the tag.

16. Adhere poinsettias and add the remaining green leaves to fill in around them. Add embellishments as desired like this shabby chic antique key. Now your tag is complete and ready to attach to a gift for someone very special.
