The holidays are filled with so many wonderful things and that includes eating things that are special for the season. The Joset Designs Christmas Pudding die set helps us celebrate this tradition. I have never made a Christmas Pudding, but after working with this die, that will be one of the new recipes I must try. Doesn’t it look delicious? Here is how I created this card.

  1.  Start with a 7×5 1/2 inch card base. Cover the front with either designer paper of your choice or use another piece of white card stock as I did. I scored vertical lines down the front to create stripes.

2.  Use the Joset Designs Christmas Pudding die set to die cut all the pieces from White Soft Finish Cardstock. This cardstock has a beautiful textured finish. Sponge the “cake” die cut using Tea Dye Distress Ink first, then sponge Aged Mahogany Distress Ink along the bottom. Sponge a little Tea Dye Distress Ink along the bottom portion of the icing.

3.  Using Gold Metallic Shimmer Sheetz, die cut the “trims” for the cake plate. Remember, a Metal Adaptor Plate is required for die cutting Shimmer Sheetz. Review Els van de Burgt’s YouTube tutorial if you are new to this techniqueGlue these pieces to the plate then add small Red Glitter Dots to the scallops along the bottom of the plate.

4.  Glue the icing to the top of the pudding and attach the pudding to the plate.

5.  Use a piece of white card stock with Clear Double Sided Adhesive on one side to die cut the Holly and Berries. Use Silk Microfine Glitter to add sparkle: True Red for the Berries and Go To Green for the Holly Leaves. Glue to the top of the pudding.

6.  Use the largest Els van de Burgt Studio Dotted Scallop Circle die to die cut a circle from designer paper of your choice. Cut the circle as shown to use as a doily. I used a wavy Gold Line Peel Off Sticker for a trim along the edge, just above the scalloped edge.

7.  I used a thin line gold Line Peel Off Sticker to go around the top edge of the scallop trim on the plate, and on the two gold trim die cuts on the bottom of the cake plate.

8.  Die cut the A Way With Words Merry Christmas from Red Metallic Shimmer Sheetz. Use a Metal Adaptor Plate to die cut.

9.  Assemble the card as shown, adding  Gold Line and Corner Peel Off Stickers as final accents on the card front.
