Memories of You

Memories of You
By Jeanette Horner

Jeanette

This is made in memory of my son Mark who picked daffodils for me every spring. He was 82nd Airborne and passed in 1995.

Surrounding a special photo with Susan Tierney-Cockburn’s realistic paper flowers is a wonderful way to create something to cherish or give as a gift. I chose an oval, but you can use a square, rectangle, or circle for the picture opening and whatever flowers are most meaningful. There are Grapevine Wreaths available in three shapes, and to cut the opening there are Fitted Ovals, Squares, Circles and Rectangles as well.

Instructions:

1. Cut White Soft Finish Cardstock to 5” x 7”. Continue Reading

For the Love of Squares

January 28, 2016

Hello everyone, Sanna here again with my second blog post for January.

I love to use color on my layouts and I hardly ever use more than one photo per scrapbooking page. However, the Stitched Square die set inspired me to create an A4 size multiple-photo layout. Using the square dies to create such a page is lots of fun and very easy to do!

Here is how I created this layout:

Sanna Lippert
1. Cut two strips of White Soft Finish Cardstock in appr. 8.5 x 2.75″ inch size. Run through a die cutting machine, three times each piece. Save the leftover strips for another project, as they look a little like photo negative strips and will be a fun starting point for another project!

Through the Lens Scrapbook Page

January 26, 2016

Hi! It’s Marsha here today, sharing a scrapbook page I created with the new Els van de Burgt Studio ‘Through the Lens’ patterned paper!

Marsha Valk | Elizabeth Craft Designs: Through the Lens Scrapbook Page

You’ve probably read that Els has shot all the images for these papers herself and some of these were even photographed in the Dutch city that I live in!

My page is about a different city though: Brussels in Belgium. On a beautiful sunny Saturday in September I took a train there to meet up with one of my online friends and she showed me the sights!

Steps to create this page:
1. Create a photo collage.

Valentine-Themed Birdhouse

January 25, 2016

Hello, I am thrilled to be part of the Susan’s Garden Club Design Team for Elizabeth Craft Designs! My name is Annette Green and this is my first post on the Elizabeth Craft Designs blog, and I’m sharing a Valentine-themed birdhouse today. I have a fondness for birdhouses as home decor pieces in my home. I love to change the decor in my foyer according to season, and most of my decor pieces are birdhouses. Since I hadn’t made a Valentine-themed one yet, I decided it was time. And with Susan’s Garden die Rose 1 and Garden Notes die Rose 2, it was such a pleasant project to create.

Celebrate

January 24, 2016

IMG_5689 (1)Hello everyone,

It’s Jackeline and for my project this week I combined some dies from Joset Designs, Susan’s Garden Club and Quietfire A Way With Words collections with my favorite peel-offs, Jacky’s Dolls, to create this decorative piece.

For the base use an easel-style photo frame. I found this cute red one in a local store. If you can’t find this one, paint a frame and an easel to match with red or any other color acrylic paint and glue them together.

To create the background, cut a piece of White Soft Finish Cardstock to fit in the frame. Die cut clouds to use as a mask and lightly sponge the White cardstock with blue ink, moving the mask around until the sky is filled with soft, overlapping cloud shapes.  Here is a link to a video tutorial.

Love – A Way With Words

Happy Saturday! It’s Suzanne here today, celebrating the release of fourteen new A Way With Word dies with Love!  I’m sharing a delicate card which can be easily assembled on short notice for someone special.  If you’re strapped for time and need a card, the A Way With Word dies are a perfect solution.  You can customize the way you use and decorate words to suit the occasion and the recipient – girlie or masculine, elegant or whimsical, in whatever way you like.

With Valentine’s Day around the corner, I’ve gone with pinks and greens. I’ve chosen to use some of the dies from Susan’s Garden Club and the brand new Premium Palette Cardstock (which is beautiful to work with and comes in fabulous colours!).  After four days of working in close proximity to the wonderful and talented Susan Tierney-Cockburn at the Craft & Hobby Association’s conference in Anaheim last week, I simply had to try my hand at making some of her amazing flowers!  making my own!  I’ve started very humbly with her Garden Edges Tulips, tiny little low-relief tulips all in a row.

Instructions

  1. Form a 5-¾ inch square tent-fold card base from white cardstock. Die cut one Love from pale pink and one from dark pink cardstock. Die cut the Carolina Window and Shutters from medium green and the row of tulips from dark green cardstock. Die cut a set of pale pink tulip petals from pale pink and one set from dark pink. Love Is In The Air

January 22, 2016

Hi everyone – it’s Sandy Diller here to share a project using the new “Through the Lens” papers from Els van de Burgt Studio.  I fell in love with these papers at first sight, so of course couldn’t wait to use them.  I haven’t made an artist trading block for awhile so thought this is a perfect time to use these great papers in a fun way.  Valentine’s Day is not too far away – why not combine the two?

Flying By to Say

ECDKite1

Hi everyone,

It’s Frances Byrne here. For my card today I am using a few more of the new dies that were released earlier this month from the Els van de Burgt Studio and Joset Designs collections available from Elizabeth Craft Designs. There are so many fun ways to use the Fitted and Stitched basic shape dies that include Squares, Rectangles, Circles and Ovals. I have also used the new Kites die set which is suitable for all ages.

Another thing that was released earlier this month was the new Through the Lens 6″ x 6″ Patterned Paper Packs that bring Els’s awesome photography to your creations. Today I am using one of the papers from the Stone Series Paper Pack.

Here’s how I created my card

  1. Cut a piece of teal cardstock that measures 5 1/2 inches x 11 inches. Score this piece along the 11 inch side at 5 1/2 inches. Fold along the score line. This will be the card base. Continue Reading
