Christmas In August With ECD

August 13, 2015
Hi, it’s Angela and today I want to share a home décor project idea that works perfectly with the brand new Elizabeth Craft Designs Card Stand/Easel die. This die is perfect to display cards, tags, programs or paper frames with photos! Here is how I created mine.

Creating the paper frame:

*Die cut two tags with the brand new Tags & More 9 – Sparkle die from festive patterned paper.
*Place the two tags on a 10 x 10 white cardstock background that has been scored down the center.
Creating the ornaments:
*Attach cardstock to an ECD double-sided adhesive sheet. Peel off the release sheet and place your peel-off sticker upside down on the release sheet.
*Place cardstock with adhesive facing down on the release sheet with the peel-off.
*Remove release sheet and cover adhesive with Bluebell Silk Microfine Glitter.
*Polish glitter with your finger and brush of excess.
*Return the leftover glitter into the jar. Fussy cut each ornament.
*Add the ornaments as desired.
Glitter “Believe”:
*Apply ECD double-sided adhesive sheet to a scrap of cardstock.
*Remove the release sheet and glitter the adhesive sheet with Antique Silver Silk Microfine Glitter.
*Polish glitter with your finger and brush of excess.
* Place the “Believe” die on the glittered piece and die cut.
 Creating the glittered corners:
*Apply ECD double-sided adhesive sheet to a scrap of cardstock
*Remove the release sheet and glitter the adhesive sheet with Antique Silver Silk Microfine Glitter.
*Polish glitter with your finger and brush of excess.
*Place the corners on the glittered sheet and die cut.
Creating the Easel Stand:
*Die cut a wood grain paper with the easel die.
*Fold on the score line in the center and stand up the easel.
Finishing the project:
*Glue the “Believe” onto tags.
*Glue the photo and corners onto the tags.
*Set in the easel for display.

This was a fun and easy project to complete. Try adding a little glitter to your holiday projects for that festive touch! The Silk Microfine Glitter comes in tons of beautiful colors and you can also mix them to create your own custom ones. The new dies were such fun to create with! Get your dies, glitter, & adhesive sheets out and PLAY!

Great project. The Card Stand/Easel is such a terrific die and I like how you used it with wood grain paper. Did you back it with something heavy or was the paper sturdy enough with just one layer?
