Hi everyone,

It’s Frances Byrne here today to share a card I created using the new Flower Vases 1 Peel-Off Stickers and one of the Garden Patch dies from Susan’s Garden line of dies.

Here is how I created my card:

1. Cut a piece of pink cardstock that is 5 1/2″ square when folded for the base of the card. Cut a piece of rust-colored cardstock 5  1/4″ square and layer this to the front of the pink cardstock. Next cut a piece of pattern paper 5″ square and add this to the front of the card.

2. Use the grid die from the Garden Patch – 1 inches & Mini Daisy & Chrysanthemum die set to die cut two grids from pink cardstock. Overlap and adhere the two grids so they look like the photo above.

3. Adhere the grid created in step 2 to the front of your card as shown above.

4. Creating the flowers on the front:

  • Before reading the instructions below, you can see a video Els created using this technique here.
  • Place a sheet of Transparent Double-Sided Adhesive onto cardstock that is big enough for your peel-offs and remove the release sheet.
  • Be careful not to touch the adhesive or it will leave fingerprints in the glitter.
  • From the Flower Vases 1 Peel Off Stickers, place the Rectangle Flower Vases Peel-Offs & two of the single Flower Peel-Offs onto the release sheet (sticky side up).
  • Place the cardstock that has Transparent Double-Sided Adhesive on top of the peel-off. (In other words, place sticky onto sticky.)
  • Use release sheet in handling the cardstock until you cover the adhesive with glitter so you don’t leave fingerprints.
  • Cover the adhesive with Cool Diamond Silk Microfine Glitter, polish glitter with your finger and brush excess off.
  • * Color your images as desired using alcohol-based markers on the glitter.
  • Cut around all Peel-Off pieces and attach to the card using foam tape.
  • Color white edges with a black permanent marker to give a more finished look.

* Coloring Tips for alcohol-based markers and glitter: Remember that when using alcohol-based markers, such as Copics, work quickly and don’t let the tip of the marker linger on the glittered surface. Too much alcohol ink can dissolve the adhesive and remove the glitter. It takes very little ink to color the surface of the glittered image so work with a light touch. To get the faded look, lay a line of color down along one edge of the section you want to color and then use your Blender pen to pull the color across the rest of the image. You may have to lay more color down to get deeper shading after you blend it out.

5. The Inside of the Card:

  • Before reading the instructions below, you can see a video Els created using this technique here.
  • Roughly trim around the negative Flower Vases Rectangle  which remains after using the Peel Off Stickers for your card.
  • Peel off any excess black peel off sticker that may be around your image until you just have the images as shown above.
  • Cut a piece of Transfer Sheet big enough to go over the Peel-Off image, remove protective backing from the Transfer Sheet and place this onto the negative portion of the Peel-Off Sticker sticky side down. Rub all over the top of the Transfer Sheet and carefully lift this off the negative image ensuring that the negative image lifts off with the Transfer Sheet.
  • Now place the negative image down on a piece of white cardstock which is 5″ square and rub all over the image. Carefully lift off the Transfer Sheet ensuring that the negative image stays on the white cardstock.

6. Stamp the Best Things in Life Sentiment using black ink to the top left hand side of the card as shown above.

7. Layer the white cardstock to the rust-colored cardstock which is 5 1/4″ square and then adhere to the inside of the pink base card.

Thanks for stopping by today! I hope you enjoyed my tutorial.

Great use of the Garden Patch die. Great card & I love how you’ve used the negative of the peel-off on the inside of your card.
